My boss was telling me the other day that the reason I got hired wasn't b/c of my resume or my letter of recommendation that I sent in. It was b/c I mentioned I was a stay at home mom! She had just gone back to work in October after being SAHM, too, so she felt like we would know where each other was coming from.
So, moral of the story is, don't be afraid to let them know that you haven't been just sitting at home for the past several years unemployed, you've been doing the most important job in the world.
