How many nursing bras do you recommend getting? I have to order them from the US and have my MIL bring them with her. I can't find any plus sized nursing bras here in The Netherlands.

My boobs haven't changed at all this pregnancy. I am still wearing the same bras I wore before becoming pregnant. So would you recommend ordering the nursing bras in my current cup size or one up just in case? I currently wear a B cup, but I also have some bras that are a C cup that also fit.

I needed a lot more than I expected to. I usually wear a bra a few times before I wash it unless I sweat in it, but with nursing bras you get leaked & spit up milk all over them and have to wash them every wearing. SO depending on how much you do laundry, you may need a few. I have about 14 but that's different styles & colours to go under different types of clothes.

I'd get the Cs probably, but I went from a D to a G with my first pregnancy & eventually settled into a DD while I was nursing. This time I went from D to DD and stayed there.

This is exactly why I am grateful for this forum. It didn't even dawn on me that I wouldn't be able to wear my bras as long between washings. I am the same way you are, I wear them for a while between washings. I was thinking about getting 4, but I think I'll need a LOT more now!

When you went from the D to the G, did that happen post-partum or throughout the entire pregnancy?

I have 5. Two are 'nice' ones that I wear when I go out and the other 3 are crappy, ugly bras that I wear around the house and to sleep in. The nice ones have molded cups and hide lumpy breast pads (which is why I wear them when I go out) and the ugly ones are not molded so my boobs looked deformed because of the pads which is why I don't wear them outside of the house. :hehe: I'm a leaker (still) so I can go through a bra a day or I can get a few days out of them if I don't leak on them. I'm not all that happy with the nice ones I have but that's because of the style (they don't fold down past my nipple very far and Thomas ends up with the cup cover under his cheek) but I don't particularly want to fork out the cash for new ones. I can suffer through these ones for a year or two.

I would go up a cup size. I have small boobs (AA cup) and when the girls are full they fill a B cup. You don't want them to be too tight.

Not preggo, I am a big B, small C. Nursing I am a D (about the same size as preggo). Personally, I can get a few days wear out of mine now b/c the leaking has slowed down a ton and I use breast pads when I'm worried about it. I also have 4 nursing tanks. Can't really use them too much anymore with work, but I lived in those things when I was at home. So easy and built in bra. They sell them at Target pretty cheap.

No, it was during pregnancy. I really thought my boobs were going to smother me in my sleep and run off to the Bahamas with my insurance money.

I would go up a cup size. I really loved the nursing tanks from Target! They were perfect for the fluctuation in size when your milk comes in and when your boobs are empty. They held the breast pads in the right spot, and they were as comfortable as you can get sleeping in a bra.:))

So I was looking into the Target tanks. They sell full sling and side sling, do you ladies have any input on which is better?

Um... I just looked at the website and I can't tell the difference or identify which one I have!

I think the full sling is where the underneath panel has a hole for your boob, where the side sling ones just have like a U of fabric that goes under your boob. I don't think it makes a huge amount of difference, I'd suspect the full sling ones (which is what I have) provide a bit more support.

I don't like the circle cut out ones. Very uncomfortable for me.

I love Bravado and pea in a pod. Those are my fave :)

That's the hardest thing about recommending nursing bras, everyone is so different. I ordered 2 Bravado ones early on and hated them so much I sent them back, I thought they were so uncomfortable!

I am so with you on the molded cop ones, they make my boobs look decent but are such a PITA to fold down. And the comfy soft ones make my boobs look deformed, breast pads or no because there's no support. I have some lace underwire ones from Target that are perfect, they're thick enough to hide pads but not molded cups so they fold down easily. I wish I had more like them but I can't justify buying more bras that I only will need for another 10 months or so when I already have so many.

Yeah I was not a fan of my bravado nursing bra either.

These ones from medela were the best for me and provided a ton of support (which I needed especially in the first few days/weeks when my boobs were ginormous).

Also I love the target nursing bras best too.

I hear ya! The only reason I can even look at the site is because my MIL is coming in October for the birth. I miss Target so much!

Oh yeah. I have a great nursing bra I got from Target. Love it. It also comes up fairly high in the front so it looks like a cami. I wear it under cross front tops to hide the girls.

But it was throughout the whole pregnancy like what happened to Lily, right? I'm not going to pop my baby out and then have my tits inflate overnight, am I? ;)
