So one of Sean's friends from high school added me on Facebook for whatever reason. And she is really annoying.
I had been talking about Cash's sticker reward chart for staying in bed until it's light out, because he only needs one more sticker on it until he gets the Cars car that is the prize. And he hasn't managed that one night yet in the last 3 nights. SO my status was
Lily McGinley is super bummed that Cash won't be getting his last sticker for his Cars car tomorrow. Came in to get me at 1:30, 1:50 and 2:20. Then Daisy woke up at 2:30 and here I am. I expect to be awake until 4:30ish with her, then Cash will surely be up before 7. *yawn*
Now do you see me asking for advice in there? Does it look like Daisy is my problem sleeper? Here's what she had to say
lily try giving daisy a little cereal with the breast milk. Most DR's now days say wait on the solids but it helps with the reflux because it's better on the stomach since it's heavier. Also my oldest had to have special formula with the protein broken down already . It was called Alamentim ask your Dr about it. Some babies can't process the protein in milk or breast milk . There's also Levisin drops which is prescription strenth Mylacon for infants.
W.........T.........F?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I'm just like ...... ......:wtf:

Did you reply?
That is so annoying! Really- you didn't say a thing about how she was sleeping and at no point did it sound like you were asking for advice.

And even if I HAD been complaining about poor sleeping, I'm supposed to give my 2 month old cereal and alimentum formula (that tastes like lead shavings) just because she has reflux?!?!?! Again I say.... WTF?!
My response was as nice as I could make it, I said
Misty, Daisy sleeps great for her age, Cash is really my problem as far as sleep goes. And I don't give my children solids until 7 months, and we certainly don't need any formula! She is doing super with breastmilk and actually has almost no gas, unlike Cash who had real gas issues. She sleeps for 5-6 hours, wakes up to eat then goes back down for 4ish hours, it's just that she's up for 1 1/2-2 hours during that one wake up when she eats because she enjoys my company I guess.

Alamentim sounds like something from a comic book. When I first read it I thought "hey, isn't that what's in Wolverine?" but then remembered it's adamantium. :hehe:

Elaine, :hehe:
I love when I state a situation or a problem - without asking for advice - and then people pick out EXACTLY THE WRONG PART OF THE PROBLEM - to give me advice for.
Love it.
Sorry, Lily!!

P.S. What age did you start Cash on a sticker chart?

No, I think that shut her up.
I should also add that the night before I had posted a funny story about a husband and wife and the wife's 40th birthday. The wife's name was Nita, it was mentioned twice in the story and she still said "Wow Lily, I had no idea you were 40"

I guess he was a little over 2 1/2. I wasn't sure he could grasp the idea, but I made the chart and put one sticker in the first square and then cut out a picture of the prize he got and stuck it in the last square then explained it several times over and over. The first one was super short, I think like 10 squares and it was for peeing in the potty so it filled up fast.
Once he got the Thomas train that was his prize for filling up the first chart, he totally got it and actually now ASKS to have a chart for something instead of just asking for whatever he wants. Like he wants a Pillow Pet really bad but instead of telling me he wants a Pillow Pet, he told me he wants his next "stay in bed" chart to be for a Pillow Pet. So that one is going to be 20 squares. Seeing as how it's taken him since the first weekend of July to get the first 11 of 12 he needs for his "Mister The King" car, I think we don't need to order the Pillow Pet until Christmas :/

LOL their ads are GENIUS I guess because literally almost every kid I know wants one. And FWIW my friends who actually have gotten their kids one say they are SUPER really nice quality and the kids really love them and get a lot of use out of them.

Dunca has two of those! He got them as gifts over a year ago. I was surprised when I saw the ads since they had been around awhile! He has a big turtle and a smaller panda. He loves that turtle. It's huge. Both are actually really good quality.
She's sounds like a doofus! Not only did you say absolutely nothing about reflux you were talking about Cash.
I have one of those on my friends list. I keep her there for pure amusement. She once tagged me and my sisters in a picture of Pizza....yeah.

You're much sweeter than I would have been.
Nevermind the 109378923487291864 million reasons why rice in a bottle is so, so wrong and dangerous ... oh and the rice in a bottle before bed so they sleep better argument has been dis-proven countless time too.

Great response. I think Daisy's doing great. It sounds like she's not reading your *complete* status.

She's a moron obviously. Geez. And not that you asked for advice :hehe:, but have you tried buying the toy that he's supposed to get and showing it to him and then putting it somewhere that he can see it to motivate him to stay in bed? I know that sometimes I'll tell Cohen that I'll give him a piece of candy to go potty, but until I actually go get it in my hand and show it to him he just messes around. Also Lauren, I've recently introduced the reward chart and while he has gotten a toy from it already, and I really don't think he gets it yet.

He's got a picture of the car on the chart & he plays with one at his friend's house, so he knows very well what he'll get. He's gotten so many prizes via the chart method now that he understands, the fact is just that his desire to see me when he wakes up in the night is greater than his desire for his prize :/ He's never been a great sleeper to begin with, he was doing pretty well for a while but he's definitely gone back to his old bad sleep patterns since Daisy was born.
