Anal Mommy?

Just wondering...I'm not really anal about Matt being around kids that have colds and such. Today he had a play date and the little girl was boogering it up. Damn. It was dripping down into her mouth and everything. The nanny was very good about cleaning it though, I'll give her that much credit.

BUT after they left I sprayed the heck out of the living room with lysol and took the stuff she was playing with to wash (play silk, baby doll and hat).

Was I anal or would you do the same thing? I gave them each separate cups of pretzels but they wound up "sharing" and she drank from Matt's cup (didn't notice if he took a swig from hers.)

Actually, I would have asked if it was allergies and if she said it was a cold, I'd ask them to come back another day.

Yea. I'm that mom. I would never take my child over to someone's house while she's buggering it up (LOL :lol: ) ...I'd call and reschedule.

I'd also clean everything when she left. But...I just hate my family getting sick. I guess if I was home with them, I'd be more relaxed about it, but since I have to work, I hate when my kids get sick-- I take days off and get crap at work for it. Lame.

I'm pretty laid back about germs and stuff, way more than most moms I interact with I think, but I FREEEEK OUT about cup sharing. So I would have been snatching that cup away and boiling it while giving him a new one. And yeah, I probably would have washed anything she played with for an extended period.

Well her snot was clear so I'm assuming it wasn't infectious or anything. Guess time will tell. I'm only concerned because I'm 37 weeks preggo and don't want to go into labor all snotty you know?

I'm really not anal about most stuff but I would have done the same thing as you. Heck, I do the same thing now when any of us has a bug. Ben had a stomach bug over the weekend and my analness kept the rest of us from getting that bug. :twothumbs:

I think that's why I'm so anal :hehe:

If the baby gets sick, then I get it, then Dylan, then Henry...and sometimes it cycles back to the baby in another form.

When it was just Dylan and myself, I wasn't so anal. If she got sick, I took care of her. If I got sick, she left me alone :hehe: Now-- it's just drama with 4 people sick in the house.

I have no idea how we avoided it but we did. :hehe: We avoided it the last time he had a stomach bug too. I think it's because I hate puking so damn much that I go a little crazy with the cleaning of everything he touched. :blush:
