View Full Version : Burning?
Ok, I know I had the baby 2 days ago but when I pee it burns on my right side and I'm pretty sure I got the stitch on the left side.
Is it normal?

Girl, I was burning for months. Just b/c you got a stitch on one side does not mean there was absolutely no trauma elsewhere down there. Look at it in a mirror. You will be able to see if its just healing or getting super red/infected.
Hope you feel better!

With both DS and DD I had tiny tears. Not enough to need stitches, but enough to make it ouchie for a while.

Yeah, I had a ton of stitches this last time and lots of little "scratches" (tears not bad enough for any work to be done on them). I'm betting that is whats burning on that side.

I think it *can* be normal but please keep an eye on it. You don't want it to get infected or that stitch to pop
Use your peri bottle when you pee. Keep it in the fridge with some witch hazel in it and it will feel amazing down there while you pee.
Or (as gross as it sounds) fill the tub with warm water and sit down to pee in the water. I remember having to do that a few times at the beginning when my stitches were sore.

I remember having a burning sensation when having to pee too. Just like the other ladies said just keep on eye on it. I would use a squirt bottle (can't recall besides warm water what it had in it) but I would use it to help ease all the funky sensations I was feeling down there.
I use the peri bottle. It's just stinging. I'm so freaked out that I did something and now I'm all infected or something.
I need to relax. And I can't look  I'll have DH take a look tomorrow.

Are you doing the sitz baths? They are a pain in the ass, but it's the one thing I didn't do and now I'm paying for it.
I'm still burning...like I scream when I have to pee. Needless to say I'm going in to see the midwife on Thursday.
Keep an eye on it. I'm afraid I've let mine go too long without getting it looked at.

Ok, I'll do this tomorrow. That's all I need now is my vag and my breasts to be F'ed up.

Definitely try the witch hazel in the peri bottle. That stuff will help cool and keep it clean.
Another product I loved (I had Josh run out and get me some when I was a few days PP) was the Earth Mama Angel Baby New Mama Bottom spray:http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/postpartum-recovery/new-mama-bottom-spray.html

Jo this looks like it might be new and it looks amazing!!
Fill the included muslin bag full of Postpartum Bath Herbs, steep, and then place directly on your perineum either warm or refrigerated. It also provides welcome relief when added to a warm tub or sitz bath. Feel better and sit easier, so you can enjoy your new angel – naturally.

I used an herbal sitz bath. It was nice. I probably should have gone it more often and I would have avoid the cauterization.

I'd say it was little tears and abrasions.
It burned to pee for about a week after I had Aidan even though I had no stitches! You're ok

I have something like this! I am going to do it today. Though, the burning isn't as bad today as it was a few days ago. DH is going to look around later and see what's going on...I can't bring myself to do it :hehe:
