Daisy's poop is seedy and yellow/brown as it should be, and it smells the way BF baby poop should, ie: kind of bready and not sour or stinky. But it's also very very mucusy. Like seriously it looks like a diaper full of poop colored snot mixed with the "seedy" stuff. Does this mean she has an allergy to something I'm eating? Cash and I both have colds right now, could she be congested too and it's presenting this way as opposed to having a runny nose? I can't find anything useful online and she doesn't have a doctor appointment for 2 more weeks. Otherwise she is fine, I just know Cash's poop was never this consistency.
I have no idea. I can't remember. I hope someone can help you!

I found this: Mucus in Infant Stool (http://www.ehow.com/about_5245469_mucus-baby_s-stool.html)
Hope that helps.

Yeah, I had read that page too, but hers isn't green. I have a message into her doctor just to check.

When Nathaniel is draining, his poop looks like snot, but isn't green, it just goes with what he's been eating. I'm not a Dr. but I think she's just draining into her tummy, and it's mixing with the breast milk.

So she probably has the same cold Cash & I have but the snot is just not making it out her nose?

Yep, especially if she's laying on her back a lot.

Well, the nurse called back & she agrees. The first thing she asked was "Does anyone in your house have a cold?". When I told her Cash & I both do, she said "There you go, be glad you're seeing that, it's good for her to get it out!"

That's good :) Guess my nursing classes are paying off :hehe: At least she isn't cranky nor has other symptoms :)

Yep, totally normal. Mucous can happen anywhere mucous happens when you get a cold! ;)

Poor thing, she woke up all congested and coughing now :( Thank God for Northern Essence's baby vapor rub, it is safe to use on baby faces. I put it on my boob while she nurses so she can breathe whole she eats!

Bless her heart. Nothing worse than a sick, tiny baby. I'm sure you know all of this, but don't forget the saline nose stuff followed by the bulb suctioner, elevating the mattress, humidifier, keeping her in the bathroom while you take a shower, etc etc. I hope she feels better soon. :hugs:

Sam had that a lot when he was a baby - he had so much sinus congestion from day 1. His poop was gross and mucousy forever.
