So it's 5:30 am and Cash has blessedly been asleep since 8 pm. This is only the second night in a week he's not been out of bed at least once.

And yet I still can't enjoy it because Daisy, who normally only wakes up once to eat and goes right back to sleep for 3-4 more hours has been awake since 2:30 am fussing about her teeth & pooping a lot.

:argh: :reallymad::frustrated:

Ugh! How frustrating.

Are you able to catch a nap when Sean gets home from work in the evenings?

I swear, when you have two (or more), they tag-team and work against you. :rolleyes:

I hope you can get some sleep soon! :support:

It's definitely a conspiracy. I promise it won't last forever! You'll sleep again. (It just may be 18 years from now). :hugs:

No, because Daisy wakes up from her afternoon nap just before he gets home. No way can he wrangle both kids, especially not after a day his very physical job, he's more tired than I am. Plus Cash feels honor bound to get in bed with me and make sure I don't sleep if I try to lay down during the day. My only chance is when he's at preschool and Daisy is taking her morning nap, which is right now. And I'm not all that tired at the moment! But I need to go lay down at at least try.

Everyone keeps telling me I'll need to sleep when the baby does and I worry if that will be possible. Not because I'll have the sense of guilt about a dirty house but simply because I'm not used to taking periodic naps throughout the day.

I hope you get some rest!

Eventually you get so tired you can't help yourself! Until I had kids I NEVER EVER napped, not ever, even as a child.

I do love to take naps so maybe I'll be okay. Dan is worried about the two weeks he's home with the baby because like you he never naps. He hates the way it makes him feel when he wakes up and he always has a hard time waking up from naps.

Maybe this is karma getting you for not letting your mom nap? ;)

Yeah I'm like Dan. I hate that nasty crusty post-nap feeling, I never feel well rested, I usually feel worse than if I'd just kept going. But when Cash was a newborn, I'd lay down to nurse him during the day and we'd both crash out. It was nice.

And I think you're right. My poor mom never understood my insomnia sleeping, she was shocked when she heard it takes the average person 10 minutes to fall asleep, she was like "That long? Really?" whereas I was like "OMG, are you kidding? That's so unfair!" because it normally takes me like 2 hours.

Unless I have babies to contend with...

I still can't nap, even after two kids and the lack of sleep I used to get with Lily. Of course, I walked around like a zombie most of the time I was in FL, so I guess that's the trade off :hehe:

I'm sorry, I hope you can get a break soon!
