How has the economy affected your decisions when it comes to TTC?

Well, we're definitely NOT TTC but...
Tonight Kevin was making a joke about something and it lead to the conversation about him having a vasectomy. Here's how the conversation went from there:
Me: Well, you know my opinion on THAT. It's all you, baby!
Kevin: What's you opinion again?
Me: :eyeroll: I would have another in a heartbeat if you said you wanted one
Kevin: Well, if we could afford it I would too but I don't think it's fair to the other kids to stress our finances that much.
Me: :bwahaha:
So, yeah, it's definitely affected our decision to TTC but that's the closest to a conversation we've really had about it since Averie was born other than Kevin mentioning having a vasectomy. Since I had a reversal to get pregnant with Averie and hopefully solve my period issues then we KNOW I am not having my tubes tied.

Well we worry about money only because we have been tight on money since getting back to the States. But I don't want to affect our decision that much because then Conner may be an only child!

Money was definitely more of an issue a month ago than it is now. It still affects our decision, though. We are still waiting on my job going full time so that I can use their benefits, all b/c of money.

My Dh was laid off for about a month so we did not try during that time but with us I am 37 so it is more of an age thing. If we do not have one soon we may lose our chance to have another baby. Looking at everything now is the perfect time for us to have another baby. :)
We want to make sure DH still has a job in 6 months and I can find something locally to do. If we do then we can decide when we start trying again. I am hoping by next summer :)

Not really. Money is tight right now, but that is not why I "just hanging out" as I put it - I am just tired of the whole trying and getting disappointed thing. It hasn't happened, so I am not stressed that it will if that makes sense.

Totally makes sense. It's weird, but I think that after all of the heartache and turmoil (and luckily blessing) we had with getting Charlie it's so hard to get excited or motivated about it again. I feel like "If it happens great, but I don't want the heartache so I'm not getting emotionally invested ." Does that make sense?

We were trying, or I guess really we stopped preventing. I don't have much of a job, and work was really slow at my husbands job. He had some furloughs, but thankfully they haven't had to lay anybody off yet.
But with things being uncertain, we thought it was best to wait a little longer. We really weren't in a big hurry anyway.

It totally makes sense Donna.... and Farah I feel the exact same way. I hope I can stay lighthearted about it the second time and not go through all the stress and heartace. ;)
