It went well. She's hitting her 9 month milestones as far as crawling, pulling up, cruising, etc but she's not making any consonant sounds yet. Both of the kids got their flu shots (well, Cohen got the mist). Aven screamed bloody nurder while they were administering them. She got 4  I would've held off on the flu shot had I realized she was already getting that many. Anyway, they both came home and took good naps and seemed fine, but then Aven started getting cranky around dinnertime. Pretty sure she was just supertired since she missed a nap this morning and is in transition from 3 to 2 naps so didn't get that last little nap either. She was almost 17 lbs and 26 inches long. I think that was 80% for weight and 55% for height. She's starting stage 2 foods already and can hold her own sippy and drink from it. My baby's growing up waaaaay too fast.

Consonant sounds are sounds that aren't vowel sounds. Like "baba" "gaga" "dada" ...etc.

Doc didn't really say anything about the no consonant sounds. I *think* she's close to making some, but I'm not really sure. Cohen was doing it by now but he wasn't nearly as mobile. He's my talker and she's my walker. I really think she'll be walking by her 9 month appt.
Oh, and I don't think the doc realized that she was 7 months either. It was supposed to be her 6 month well check but I had forgotten to make an appt at the last visit. I think that was why she was so impressed with all she was doing lol.

Shane was making lots of sounds at that age but didn't even start crawling until then and didn't start walking until 11 months so at 7 months it sounds like she doing very well.

7 months! :yikes: When the heck did that happen! Sorry about her shots :( Poor girl! I hope it was just missing a nap that made her cranky. I wouldn't worry to much yet about her making sounds. Seems like most kids are either really mobile early (Conner was the same way) or really vocal. My neighbors 2 1/2 year old has been talking in full sentences forever now. It almost feels like you're talking to a 5 year old :hehe: but he didn't walk for a long time and still is so uncoordinated. She's doing great! :hula:

Elise is the same!! Very mobile and ahead motor-skill wise, but really not making any consonant sounds -- just "aaah" and squeals and screams. LOL. Andrew didn't crawl until 9 months, so it was really crazy to have Elise crawl before 7 mos!

I just can't believe it's been 7 months. Wow. But it sounds like Aven is doing great - so YAY! for your cruiser-soon-to-be-walker!!

Oh yeah Matt wasn't really vocal either. Still isn't except for the screaming  Matt was an "early" walker and had advanced gross motor skills. I think it's either one or the other. James has already started cooing!
