John needed to have a little procedure done to get the head of the penis back out again. The moyel/OB had to use a local on him again. Poor little buddy was beside himself when that happened. Then the dr had to stretch the skin and I think even make a little cut to free it. He said we will need to keep vasaline on it again for a few days, and that the problem is resolved. It was so sad. I really hope that's the last we see of that guy.
But at least it wasn't too serious. I told DH if we have a another boy, I DO NOT want to circ. He still thinks it was the right decision.

Poor baby John! I am glad it's over, and I really hope the problem is resolved.
I remember with Sam, they cut his foreskin off and then a little plastic ring was placed around his penis. I'm not sure what it was for, but it appears to have held all that remaining tissue back while the penis healed. Now he's got what looks like a perfect circumcision - no problems.
My friend's son, on the other hand, had a circumcision and for a long time, they had to push back some remaining tissue so that the tip of his penis didn't disappear into it. I never understood why that was necessary...except maybe he didn't cut as close as Sam's doctor??
Anyway, those were random thoughts. Sorry!

The pushing back can just be due to the fat pad. Duncan's never "disappeared" in there but its common. And you need to make sure you clean around it or you can get adhesions. What a freaking pain. Man am I glad I dont have a penis. They sound like a lot of work.

Lauren, that's the plasti-bel procedure that Sam had. Brendon had it, too. Some doctors prefer it to other methods, and after our experience with Brendon's, I definitely would opt for that over any of the other ways.
I'm glad they were able to fix John up, and hopefully things will heal correctly! And hopefully you and your DH can come to a consensus on what to do if you end up with a 3rd boy. Who knows, maybe it'll be a girl next time and you guys won't even have to battle over it :hehe:.

I'm so glad they were able to fix it pretty easily and I hope he doesn't have anymore problems!
I wish I would have known about the ring method!
