View Full Version : talk to me about 2 year molars
When did they start?
How crabby was your child?
Did they make their poo liquidy?
Did they not want to eat?
What was the best remedy for the screaming fits?
ETC.
(last night or should I say at 3 am Matthew had another tantrum episode that lasted 1.5 hours...I put my finger in his mouth and rubbed his gums and he fell asleep so I put some orajel on it. I am now guessing his 2 year molars are popping through even though the pedi said he did not see that happening yet. Poor guy--now I feel so awful for losing my patience with him.)

I was going to post the same thing!! I can't see anything in Williams mouth but he seems really sore, he's got a rash on his chin from drool and his diapers seem different! And today he's been really stuffy!

Hmm...Addie's started a couple of months ago, but I don't remember when. She's still cutting them.
Addie has never really shown a lot of discomfort with teething during the day, just at night.
She would wake up almost every night through the night and it would take forever to get her to fall back asleep. Now she's talking a lot more and she says "teeth hurt". I give her motrin and she sleeps for the rest of the night.
Yeah, we will probably start drugging him soon. OMG the screaming was horrible. We made sure to close all the windows because it literally sounded like we were killing him.

Hmm. Honestly, I can't remember when Sam's 2 year molars came in. But it was sometime this summer. Well after he turned 2 - but then again, he didn't start teething until he was 8-9 months old.
I knew he was teething because of his rotten mood, runny stools, and the fact that he was trying to chew on forks and keys and even his fingers. It didn't last longer than 2 weeks, though.
I hope it doesn't last long. He is miserable as well as us! Matthew started teething early and has all his teeth other than these so I wouldn't be surprised!

Its seems to be the trend in my friends group at the moment... Taelon's eye teeth just broke through which were a bit of a pain... But last night he was awake every 30mins wimpering and tossing and turning.
I think his molars are about to strike. He got his first teeth at just under 4 months so I won't be surprised if he gets his molars before he hits 2. I haven't resorted to drugs with any of his teeth but being pregnant and up all night with a child is NO fun as I'm sure most of you know... so I might give in

Conner just started getting his A few months after his 2nd Birthday. Which is weird because he was always an early teether. Now when I say start getting them is when I noticed them at the gum line. His teething be behavior started months before. These have been the worst ones yet. And I thank God they are almost in!

Cohen's just started coming in like 2 months ago, and they still aren't in all the way. He was a late teether in the beginning too though. Chewing on his hands. They are constantly in his mouth. I couldn't say for sure, but I think they've caused some runny poops. All I know is they take FOREVER.

Nathaniel got them at about 22-23 months, and he would point to his mouth and say "owie" so we knew something was going on. We were orajel and tylenol him to help with the pain. Like Addie though, he's never shown a lot of pain when it came to teething.
I read somewhere someone said they took 11 months to come in :yikes::faint:

Shelby still hasn't got hers in yet. She's two and a half. She was a late teether, though. She didn't get her first tooth until she was almost a year old. She's been cranky as can be lately, though, and I checked her mouth, and don't feel anything yet.

I didn't answer these so I am posting again lol
How crabby you ask? Extremely. He has been whining over every.little.thing.
Liquidy poo? Oh yes. Lots!
Eating habits? He wouldn't eat barely anything some days. His appetite would come and go.
As for screaming fits. I scream back then cuddle
He was chewing on his fingers a lot about a month before I even notched anything.
They have been working their way in for a while. Taking was longer then the first set!
Molars suck.

i hate to back this up, but Cash started fussing about his 2 year molars at Christmas of 2008 and they weren't all in until Sept of 2009 :( He'd have all the normal teething issues for a few weeks at a time, then it would stop then start again. Sucked!

Gabes have been coming in since May and they are still only HALF way through! I think these molars are the worst to come in....but at least they are the LAST!
Talon got them about 3 months after he turned 2. He was chewing on everything again, including his own hands and acting very irritable. He also wouldn't let me brush his teeth once they got really bad and that's when I figured it out. For him they weren't too much worse than the other teeth. I think he may have woken up at night once or twice.

Frigg we're still dealing with the eye teeth. I Swear to God by the time this is all said and done we'll have been teething in this house non stop for probably 4 or 5 years!

Please tell me we're done w/ the 2 year molars? Like there are no more after that right?
Yes, I think those are the last until they get their adult teeth
