Addie hasn't been a fan of milk since I weaned her around 13/14 months and her doctor is cool with her not drinking it as long as she eats cheese and yogurt, etc.
Well, tonight a friend babysat for us and she said Addie drank two cups of milk! That was really strange.
About 30 minutes ago I heard her coughing in her bed and then I heard the dreaded "splash" sound. She puked everywhere. :(
Do you think it was just too much milk this time, or do you think maybe she's been avoiding milk all this time because she knows it makes her feel bad? Anybody know anything about this kinda thing?

My initial reaction is that it might have been too much milk when her tummy wasn't used to it. If she's lactose intolerant, she would also have problems with ice cream and other products containing milk, I think...I was lactose intolerant as a kid - the milk made me gassy and gave me stomach pains and diarrhea. I remember ice cream and pudding, and I even think cheese gave me a lot of gas. I think the only dairy that didn't make me sick was yogurt. Eventually (around college) I grew out of it enough that I just get gassy and that doesn't bother me :D Don't ask how Doug feels about it though!!

Lactose intolerance gives you sensitivity to milk, ice cream, and whole milk cheeses like mozzarella. Anything where the milk isn't cooked, so like lactose intolerant people can eat yogurt and cheddar with no issues.
It's unlikey in a child's Addie's age unless she had issues when you were nursing her? Usually it causes more gas and intestinal pain more than actual vomiting. Does she eat ice cream?

After googling this morning I realized she's probably not lactose intolerant. I agree, she probably just drank too much and it was hard to process. Plus it probably didn't help that her allergies are acting up right now so sometimes she wakes up coughing up crap from her throat. I'd say that might have actually been it. She may have just been trying to cough something up and...
to be continued...she just walked in and said "naa ned" and I looked and she's standing here with nothing on but 3 bracelets. HA!
