So I've noticed Conner has started taking his blankets and using them as a pillow. So I was wondering when you let your toddler sleep with a pillow?

Here is what I found on Baby Center
Though they're often sold with crib bedding sets, pillows are not recommended for children under 2. Kids that small can easily suffocate while using one.
Actually, older kids don't need pillows either. Parents often think a pillow will provide their child with extra comfort, not realizing that their child was doing fine without it.
If you want to introduce a pillow, it's best to wait until your toddler moves from a crib to a bed (http://www.babycenter.com/404_how-and-when-should-i-move-my-toddler-from-a-crib-to-a-bed_4598.bc). But if you want to give him one while he's still sleeping in a crib, go with one that's small (the size of an airline pillow) and firm. Stay away from feather pillows, which are too soft, can set off allergies, and can smother a child if his head sinks into it while he's sleeping.

We never gave Tyler one in his crib, though it never really occurred to us, lol. He got a pillow when he moved to a bed.

I had noticed a few months ago that Ava was bunching up her blankets and laying on them. I started just folding one of her soft fluffy blankets and putting it on one end of the crib. It seems to work just fine for her.:))
My concern with a pillow would be that she would use it to stand on and maybe get some leverage to climb out of her crib.

Yeah I was thinking that to Andrea. Maybe I'll do that and just fold up a blanket for him and see what he does. I mean obviously he's comfortable the way he is sleeping so that's all that matters. lol

Paige got one when she moved to her Toddler bed but she never really used it till she was 2 and went to a twin bed.

Sara hates pillows, she could care less. I have her crib mattress elevated so that is probably why she doesn't care for one. I don't plan on introducing one until she goes into a bed, hopefully that will be soon.

I have been folding one for Eli for awhile... He loves to take the throw pillows off the couch and lay with them on the floor.

Ava does this to....she throws them on the floor and lays on them saying "nigh nigh". :))
Are big fluffy pillows dangerous or all pillows like the really flat ones?

Talia always had a pillow in her room (each of my kids has a special nursing pillow that becomes their regular pillow), but we didn't put it in her bed and have her use it until the day we transitioned her to the toddler bed. She was 2 1/2 years old when we did.
