So I went back to work this weekend and DH gave Connor bottles of pumped milk. Just as I expected, Connor has been refusing to nurse since. He's always been a fussy nurser (even before he ever experienced a bottle). I really can't emotionally deal with the struggle to get him to nurse. He screams and pushes my boob away.

:sigh: And here I thought we were doing so well! I'm thankful to have made it this far though.

There's no reason to give up. Have you tried a nipple shield? You can still pump and give him BM that way. As long as he gets it that should be fine.

OR you can stop. Whatever makes you happy

Agreed. Don't give up. Keep offering the breast, he may still come around.

He nursed throughout the day, but he's not satisfied because he doesn't stay on long enough.

I'm not ready to give it up, but I also don't want it to become stressful for us. I'm worried about my supply now that he's not nursing for very long.

I figure I'll keep doing what I'm doing and supplement if I have to. I really don't want to lose this bond we have...there's nothing better than snuggling under the covers with him while he's nursing.

:hugs: This happened when I returned to work part-time with Cohen, but he was almost 9 months so I just let it happen. Just keep doing what you're doing and hopefully he'll start nursing more. You're right, there's nothing better and I promise it only gets more special, so I'd hate for you to miss out on what's yet to come! But I'm also all about doing what makes you happy, because a happy mom is a happy family. I just don't want to you regret stopping later, kwim? I've just heard that so many times from moms. We're here to cheer you on no matter what!

Great advice! You got through some of the roughest moments already and think that in a month or so it is going to be completely smooth sailing!!

I hope that he comes around and you can continue to breastfeed him and enjoy your moments together! :support:
