How soon did you have sex and/or take a bath after giving birth? I don't have any stitches and it will be four weeks on Tuesday since I had Gabe. I would love, love, love to take a bath, especially since Dan's grandma treated me to a LUSH gift certificate as a new mama present. I could definitely go for some sex again.
I know most women have a 6 week post-partum check up and wait until then. Well they don't do that out here. I think it is because a midwife came to check me every other day for a week after Gabe was born. I am still bleeding and it is still bright red. How much longer should I wait for a bath and sex?

I waited 8 or so weeks till I had sex again.
I bathed ASAP after arriving home, granted, there might have been a bit of blood in the tub but it really helped me feel so much better to soak-I'd shower afterwards, of course.

I was told I could bath once the bleeding stopped.

Bathing is fine as soon as you want to. The general rule is 6 weeks before having sex, but I know people who went ahead as soon as they felt up to it at 4 or 5 weeks.

I was told to bath right away and I was very "damaged" so I had to wait months to have sex again.

My crotch was a hot mess for months (cauterized TWICE :puke:) so no sex for like 2.5/3m. I had a bath like a couple days afterward. I can's see why you wouldnt be able to since have sitz baths... I put some of the sitz bath herbs in the tub and chilled. It was lovely.

5 weeks post for sex (had c-section) and we didn't have a bath tub at Mom's so I had showers till at least 4 months, but would have had one sooner if Mom had a tub :)
I was 4 weeks I believe for sex and I don't do baths.

I bathed before the 6 week check-up, but waited until the bleeding stopped for sex....I had stitches tho and they took a long time to heal so it would have been painful before then!

I had no stitches and was told to wait 2 weeks to bathe simply because that's about how long it takes for your cervix to close again. If you bathe too soon before the cervix closes you run the risk of a gnarly uterine infection. Sex I have always been told to wait until I am comfortable but no sooner than the 2 week limit like bathing and for the same reason, cervix isn't closed and risk of infection.

I had a bath right away. It made my stitches feel so much better... in fact they gave me a sitz bath while in the hospital.
Also I was having troubles getting Isabella to latch so my LC suggested putting her into a warm tub of water with me and letting her breast crawl down to the boob.

I'd like to try that with Gabe tomorrow but I want to wait until my husband is home in case I need trouble getting in and out of the tub with the baby.

No baths because we have a regular tub. Boo! with Mr. N sex was months down the line because after the 6 week checkup I had to be re stitched. Either the dummy didn't stitch me up right or I popped a stitch. With Miss M it was a couple of months but only because it was tiring with a kid on the boob all day and chasing a 2 year old.

Funny how each doctor seems to be different.
I wish I went to one that said I could bathe right away. I really missed it!

Yup. I never did it alone with Isabella. In fact until she could sit up on her own I always bathed with her. Never even touched the baby bath. I'd just get in the tub and put her on my chest and bathe her that way. It was the best!! Nothing beats having a little nudie warm baby in the tub with you. But I always had DH sit right beside the tub and when we were done I'd hand her to him and he'd burrito her while I got out etc. She'd often nurse and nurse in the tub and fall asleep. It was heaven!!

Whenever I need to give a baby a bath if Sean isn't home, I put the bpouncer right next to the tub with the towel all spread out in it. Then I put baby on the towel in the bouncer, wrap him/her up and jump out to dry & dress myself. Works great!
Cash post bath at 6 weeks
