We started brushing Conner's teeth after he got his first two. They always get brushed after his bath and I try to do it during the day once. Sometimes more.

Do you do it? Yes, Ava will do it but of course she doesn't do a good job, so I do it for her after she is done...she hates when I do it.
Since when? 5 months old when her 2 bottom teeth started coming in.
With What? We started with the rubber finger brush thing with infant tooth and gum cleanser. Now we use a toddler tooth brush and toddler toothpaste.

What kind is the toothpaste Andrea.. I have been looking for Eli some. I saw there is the crest with Little Bear on TV and it is safe to swallow... Does she spit it out or swallow?

It's the Gerber toddler toothpaste, it doesn't have fluoride in it.
Ava doesn't know how to spit it out yet so she ends up swallowing it.

I have used "Angel Toothbrushes" with my kids as infants. They are similar to those biting things that football players use. You put the paste on the top and bottom of the biting tray (the material is a hard gel) and then the kid chews on it. There are tiny bumps/bristles on it that work to 'clean' their teeth. I don't think I started until they were maybe 6 months old? It started off as part of our nightime routine, and then we started at naptime as well. Once the first one wears off (Around 18 months) I switch over to a regular toothbrush. We use that fluoride free toddler-training paste to this day (Thomas the Tank Engine, of course!) Around 6 months ago I started buying packs of individual flossers and every night I floss Jackson and Talia, and then they 'finish' off. I also purchased electric toothbrushes AND 'regular' toothbrushes for the two toddlers around the same time. Now we use electric ones at naptime and regular toothbrushes at bedtime, with flossing only at bedtime. I know we're supposed to do it in the morning after breakfast too, but we are typically rushed. Once Talia starts pre-school I will add that into her routine and take out her naptime brushing.
I have a finger-gum-brusher for Tasha which I will use once I see signs of teething.

We brush it every night before bed and we use toddler toothbrush and toothpaste. I let him do it at first, then I give him the toothpaste to hold while I go in and brush while singing our "Brush" song. :hehe:

I have to admit that I forget to brush his teeth quite a bit. I usually do it at least once a day, but I tend to forget the nighttime brush. (or well, DH always forgot when I was at work) And he absolutely hates it now. It's a battle every time, so I just let him do it and then try it after he's done. And we sing a teeth brushing song, too! It's one that we use to sing in music class when I was probably in 3rd grade.:))

"Brush Brush Brush...
Brush Brush Brush....
Brush our teeeeeeth
Brush our teeeeeth."
Repeat :hehe:
I believe it's to the tune of a disco song, but I can't remember which. I'll have to think.

I have a CD player in Annie's bathroom, and she gets to pick any song to brush her teeth to. I started brushing her gums at 3 months, so she'd be used to it. Worked like a charm!! We use the Orajel kid's training toothpaste, and have graduated from a finger brush to a big-girl electric brush. I still go behind her and do it over, though. I'm anal about that kind of thing. ;)
We use a toddler brush and orajel paste. I am terrible about trying to remember so I started doing it in the bath every night. I usually brush them first and then let him chew on the toothbrush a bit until he starts dunking it in the bath water. ;)

We started with Tyler as soon as he started getting teeth, with the finger brush & baby orajel toothpaste, then upgraded to bigger toothbrush when he was a bit bigger. We usually brush them no less than 2x a day, and I typically go for 3 (though I"m a bit neurotic, lol).
