Do any of you wax your legs at home?

I tried it once and it hurt so bad. My legs turned red and bled. I'm scared to try it again.

I only shave my legs once a month (the week I ovulate. HAHA!) because I hate shaving. I'm lazy. I want to try waxing again because they say it last longer.

What kit do you use? Any tips or techniques?

I've been waxing my legs since 1991. Over time it has made the hair on my grossly hairy legs incredibly sparse, which is a great benefit, but to get that benefit, you have to only wax. Taking a razor to your legs will undo it instantly!

Honestly I tried all manner of at home products, hot & cold, and of what you get, I liked the Nads product the best (great name, right) in terms of being effective, gentle and affordable. But truly nothing equals a salon quality wax. I had to stop getting them after Cash was born, no longer having the time nor money, and doing it at home was just not cutting it for me. So I went to using Veet once a week and I'm actually really happy with that solution.

Nads? What did I do wrong with Nads, then, because it hurt me so bad I was shaking. I can't wax, but I wish I could.

Maybe I should get a professional wax and watch them to see what I did wrong. Problem is that I am too scared to try!

Now I shave with coconut oil. The smoother shave the less you have to do it, right? That stuff makes the razor glide like a dream. And it's great for my skin. :)

Well, it's hard to say, everyone has their own acceptable pain level. I'd had mine waxed professionally quite a few times before I tried it at home and you do build up a tolerance. I've fallen asleep while having my legs waxed before! I also waxed my own nether regions for 8 years because back in those days if you asked someone in a salon to wax it all off they'd think you were a big fat perv. So again, I built up a pretty good immunity to that kind of pain. Taking 2 advil an hour before you get waxed is supposed to help.

Is Veet a waxing system or is it like Nair?

I have been wanting to start waxing, too. I'm not a hairy girl in general, and I routinely shave once every other week. I have hardly any hair at all above the knee...I've been thinking a good waxing might last me a loooong time.

Can you wax during pregnancy??

No, Veet is like Nair. After I had Cash I just couldn't find the time/energy to do a good enough wax job on myself and could afford to keep getting it done, so I switched to Veet and I'm happy with it. 5 minutes once a week for smooth legs is about the best I can do.

And yes, you can get waxed during pregnancy, by all means!
