I went for my yearly GYN exam and was told that I should really have a hysterectomy whenever I am able.

I have had endometriosis for over 10 years, heavy bleeding and debilitating cramps since high school & aparently I now have a small uterine prolapse (which I suspected, ever since Daisy was born I felt like something was bulging out that shouldn't be) and all those problems would be eliminated in one fell swoop if they just removed my uterus.

I'm okay with it, I mean there was no way I was having more kids, and they'd leave my ovaries so I wouldn't have to take hormones. I just wouldn't have periods anymore or this embarrassing prolapse, so aside from having to have surgery, there's not really a downside. It was just kind of a shock to hear.

I'm going to wait until the kids are older and able to have me out of commission for a few days. I'd only have 3 small 1 stitch incisions, I guess they can do it with lasers nowadays so it's not a huge operation. So I have that look look forward to, maybe when Daisy is like 3 & Cash is 6.

Sounds like its the type of surgery where you'll actually feel better after it! That's great that you won't have to take hormones, that was my first thought when I started reading it. How ironic that Sean just got "fixed" and now you have to! I'm glad you got this news after you were done having kids.

Yeah, that does sound shocking since you weren't prepared for it.

I have a prolapse, too. I've had it since I was pregnant with L and they recommended a hysterectomy when I'm done with kids. I also have Endo, but I don't think mine is as bad as yours. If I was in your shoes, I'd do it also. I didn't know anything about leaving in the ovaries! That's great.
