Well yesterday and today Eli has cried when I left him at the sitter! I can't take this! He screams NO NO NO, cries, and reaches for me... Awww I swear he is going to start saying he hates me...:cry3:

But I no sooner get out to the car he is fine and playing! So I know it isn't the fact that he hates it there, he LOVES it there...:zoned:

:bluehug: Aww, don't beat yourself up. It's really perfectly normal. Also, ALL of my kids did that and before I could pull out of the driveway they were fine and playing like nothing had happened. It really is harder on us mommy's than them I think and HE DOESN'T and WON'T hate you for this! It really is just a phase and he should be over it pretty soon, just a little seperation anxiety. :bluehug:

He won't hate you, Ashley! He just loves his Mama. Cohen did this yesterday, too, and he hasn't ever done it before. I thought we were in the clear! It's heartbreaking, I know.

:bluehug: Aww.... He won't hate you! Well, he might not like you very much when you show his girlfriends the pics of him with his blankies but he won't hate you. :p

If it makes you feel any better, Ben can freak out when I go to the bathroom without him. I'll be gone for all of 30 seconds and he has a breakdown...

I think all kids go through this. And it's hard on us because we don't want them to be sad and leave them. But at least once you are gone he enjoys himself and isn't miserable the whole time. He loves you Ashley and will never hate you. :bluehug:

Yeah Eli has been doing that:eyeroll: But I don't care if he comes in with me anymore I think it is helping the potty training stuff!

Yeah I don't know what I would do if he did that all day long. I could not handle that at all!

Ashley...I feel your pain. My Annie is DEFINATELY a "Momma's Girl," and she still has a hard time when I leave her in certain situations. However, her first day of pre-school, she was like, "okay Mom, thanks, buh-bye." Then again, I had made SUCH a big deal out of it...I think she thought of it as more of a treat than anything. But there are still bad days...today, for instance. I'm staying with my parents for the night (I had a spinal epidural this afternoon), and DH came to get Annie for the night so that she could go to VBS in the morning (my parents live 45 minutes from us, otherwise I'd have taken her). He came down the driveway, and she was ALL EXCITED..."Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!!" Then, it was time to go. Annie looked at me and said, "Mommy, you want to come, too?" I told her that I was staying at Grammy and Grandpa's, but that I would see her tomorrow after "Jesus School."

Big mistake.

She BAWLED and SCREAMED and threw herself at me, just wailing, with tears streaming down her face. Bill had to literally pry her off my leg and carry her to the car. I was almost in tears myself...but Bill said that she was fine within a minute of leaving the driveway. I was all but forgotten by the time they were halfway home.

It's surprising what kids retain and what they don't. The good thing is, Eli is adjusting well. Take comfort in that...and no, he isn't going to hate you. Annie will be all over me tomorrow when I pick her up...and this evening will be all but forgotten!!

Well today is the first day he hasn't cried all week! Go figure we are at the end of the week!:eyeroll:
This morning he went right into the living room with the kids and I went right back out the door the sitter winked at me and smiled real big! I love her!
