How long do you continue to bleed after giving birth?

Two days ago, I thought it was almost done, but last night, everything came back strong, even a few (Sorry TMI) bits of tissue like when you have a heavy period.

I know that I had pretty serious internal lacerations, and I'm not sure if the blood is from them or from my uterus? It's very much like menstrual blood, though, so I guess it's my uterus. If it were from tears, I would think it would be a different color.

So, anyway, how long is this going to go on? I'm kinda done with it...

I bled 4 weeks, 5 weeks and 8 weeks. With my 8 week one, it came and went a lot. Heavy and then light, or just spotting and then heavy again.

I was told it's normal to last 6-8 weeks.

I stopped RIGHT before my 6 week checkup but I believe it did come back as spotting afterwards still!

PP Bleeding SUCKS! I hope it ends for you real soon.

With William it was 7 1/2 weeks....mostly medium flow...heavy in the beginning, never fully stopping the WHOLE TIME! lol BRUTAL!

With Chloe, I'm done. I bled for 3 weeks, medium to light flow after the first week of heavy flow, sometimes it'd even stop for a full day. Then for ~2 weeks it was on and off light to nothing but always brown. 4 1/2 weeks and MUCH better than with William!!

UGH! I'm so done with it. I hope it doesn't go for 8 full weeks like Rebekah's!!

Mine felt like it went on forever. It will stop and start, stop and start...that's the worst!

Mine stopped literally right before my 6 week pp check. I am not looking forward to that part of pregnancy and post partum

Mine lasted until 8 weeks after Connor. I wasn't able to rest like I needed, and I didn't do my sitz baths often enough.

With Shelby, mine lasted about 6 weeks, and I had internal tearing also. With Jacob, it lasted three weeks, then went away, and then came back at 5 weeks (although I found out later, that was AF, since I got it back again the next month).
