I keep wanting to quit, when things are tough. Then, I feed her and she looks at me and I fall in love with it all over again.
I decided to pump during the daytime and bottle feed. I will continue breastfeeding at night, so from 6 pm through 6 am.
My hope is that the pumping time will allow my right nipple to heal so that we can continue working on a better latch. It has been cracked and open since she was born because we've just never maintained a good latch.
If I can't get the latch on the right, and it keeps cracking, I'm going to use it only during the daytime to pump and feed exclusively off the right breast at night. Everyone says a woman's body can adjust to whatever the schedule is, so we'll see if Ms. Righty can keep up if I have to stop using her at night. I definitely won't start pumping her through the night, though. That's just too much.
We'll see as I take it day to day.
