meatballs

I have never made meatballs before...but that is what Randy wants for his party.
So, I guess I am spending the day making them...my weight watcher leader gave me a non-weight watcher recipe with ground meat, veal, garlic, bread, bread crumbs, eggs and parsley...so I guess that is what I am going to use...

I wonder how many I need. I am also making pulled pork and hotdogs.

I just use the ones in the bag in the frozen food section. ;) They are super yummy!

Sounds about right! I use a combo of beef, pork and veal.

For the bread, I let 3 slices of white bread soak in some milk. Squeeze out the excess milk before adding to the meat mixture though.

I also pan fry my meatballs first just to brown the outside, and then I bake them covered with some sauce.

Well.....coming from an Italian family meatballs are my FAVORITE and it sounds like you got a pretty good suggestion on a recipe! I use a Beef/Pork/Veal mix, unseasoned bread crumbs, garlic, egg, parsley and fresh grated pecorino romano (instead of salt). Mix, brown in pan but not cooked through, then add them to the gravy (crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, parsley, oregano, garlic, etc...) and let them simmer for a few hours!!!!!!

OMG! I want to make meatballs now!!!!!!

I did soak bread in the milk and I browned them in my cast iron pan and then put them in the oven...tomorrow, I just have to heat them up.

Now I am working on potato salad.

I couldn't help but click on this one. Addie walked around for a week saying "meeeeatbaaaaalls" for everything. No idea why. LOL

I just always use the frozen ones and do the grape jelly/chili sauce thing. Yummy!
