Did someone post awhile back about this? I have been losing hair like crazy. I know I'm tired and was not taking my vitamins regularly (trying to fix this now) but it still completely freaks me out. I literally wear my hair back every day because it flares up my anxiety so much. I have an ob/gyn appointment next week, so I thought I'd ask her opinion first, and then see if I should get an appt. elsewhere.

So has anyone dealt with this? What was the cause/result?

Thanks! :support:

:hi:

Mine was coming out like crazy. I had the halo of frizz. I still lost a lot daily but it's slowing down. Not sure if it was PP or my thyroid or a mixture of both. I had to just take my prenatal and Vit. D supplement.

My hair has been falling out in huge clumps since I hit 2 months postpartum. I have been taking Vit D and my prenatal, which a lot of mommies recommended to Jo. No change.

I have lost so much hair there are bald patches at the back. It is quite obvious that my hair is much thinner than it's ever been - even people I work with have commented.

It's really depressing.

Im sorry y'all are in the same boat! I have read a ton, and stress, lack of sleep, etc can all contribute (which there has been a lot of here). I also read it can be a side effect of mirena which I'm currently on (that and these damn migraines- not a fan anymore, I have to say).

I'm going to get a vit. d supplement. I need to search for your thread Jo!

Lauren, I'm sorry :( I don't have the bald spot, but thin thin thin hair to start with. My ponytail is pathetic right now and it's awful!

I tried Mirena for a few months a while ago, and it gave me migraines, too. I am glad that someone else has had this experience because my former OB>GYN argued that the way Mirena works, it couldn't cause migraine headaches.

I'm sorry that you have migraines, though!

I have the mirena but I haven't had any major issues with it.

Although I had major hair issues when my thyroid was messed up. I also shed just like a stupid cat. My house is covered in cat hair and my hair. Yuck!

I've been taking Vitamin D supplements for years (along with a few others) and still had the hair loss problem. It wasn't until I added a B-complex supplement along with Fish Oil that my hair stopped falling out. I don't know which of the two did it, maybe the combination, but I haven't been losing clumps of hair for several months now. :) Good luck finding the right combination of things for you!

Eve, I never know what people mean when they say a B complex. COuld you tell us what you use - what brand, where you get it, what's in it? Also, I've been taking fish oil, but how much are you taking?

I get it from Target. It has all the B- vitamins, folic acid, vitamin c and biotin.

The fish oil is the same brand. I take one of each a day. The fish oil says to take it three times a day but I can only manage to remember it once. (Supposed to take with meals) My schedule is too inconsistent for me to remember any other time of day. I take everything before I go to bed.

Mine kept falling out in clumps for months after I had L. I finally went and had my thyroid re-tested, and sure enough my TSH was really elevated. My OB told it me it was fine 6 weeks PP and that it would probably return to normal. I think I was about 6 or 7 months PP before I finally went to see my doctor about the hair loss. I thought it was just normal hair loss during the PP period.

Hi Ashley,
Some effective tips for you to reduce hair fall.
Do take adequate amount of proteins through daily meals and manage stress with regular workout. Do comb and brush your hair every day and use shampoo and conditioner according to your hair texture.

I actually posted something on Cindy's post. It had some tips and vitamins suggestions.

This ended up being some health problems/hormone related :)
