Hi, I'm new here. :hello: I currently live in the midwest (although I'm from around these parts originally). Married and have one little girl who is 14 months old. We're currently TTC #2, which is mostly why I'm here.

I had a very early miscarriage in September, last month, so we're a little cautious. But trying to stay positive.

Let's see, what else? I'm a SAHM. My husband works entirely too many hours for a cable company. I use cloth diapers part-time on my little girl. We're Christian; we don't have a car. (<--those two aren't related, but I'm kinda listing things now). My little girl was in the NICU for a couple weeks when she was born (for nothing serious, as it turned out), and that contributed to us having some breastfeeding issues. She nursed about 30% of the time and we supplemented the rest of the time. And then I dried up completely as she approached one year old. I'm hoping with this next baby, God willing, I won't have those same difficulties.

Although we cloth diaper, I'm not really a "crunchy" type, you kwim? I'm also on the mothering.com board but don't always fit in because I'm a bit more mainstream than the status quo there. Not sure yet what the board culture is around these parts, but I'll do some more lurking and see if I can find out.

Also? I've never actually been to a place that was or included an island, but have always wanted to. :)

Also, I love this smiley: :madwoman:

And that's all I got for now.

Welcome!! I'm sure you'll fit in great around here. We're sprinkled with a little bit of just about every parenting type. I don't really fit the crunchy or traditional mold myself. Make yourself at home!

Welcome!

I think you'll find that we're a good mix. We have a few moms who are super crunchy and a few moms who are the polar opposite of crunchy and most of us are in between. I feel we do a pretty decent job of making sure people don't feel like they're being judged or attacked for their style.

I'm similar to you, in that I cloth diaper most of the time and had problems breastfeeding.

Who is polar opposite of crunchy?
Not being smart - just trying to figure out where we all fit in...

Doesn't matter! That's the beauty of MH. At the end of the day we don't care, we love everyone for who they are! :grouphug2:

Well I've been on a LOT of mommy boards, and while a venn diagram would better illustrate this, there is a sort of continuum that I've noticed. It goes like this:

<-I----------------------I----------------------I->

Crunchy------------Mainstream--------------Traditional

So, the polar opposite of crunchy would be traditional. HTH! :hehe: :D

A-frickin-men to that!

I'm more the chewy type. Kinda crunchy, kinda not. :hehe:
