For you BTDT moms, what was your LO's nap schedule like at 6 months?

For the longest time Aiden has slept from 7PM-5:30/6AM then he would always go back to sleep for about 45min-90min after eating and playing for a little bit. Then he would take a nap late morning and a nap in the afternoon. Sometimes he would take another nap in the evening depending on what time he woke up from his afternoon nap.

Well the last three days he has decided he doesn't want to take the 45-90min nap first thing in the morning. Instead he's acting like he's up and ready for the day. This cuts him down to only 2 naps a day now. I'm just concerned that he's not ready for this much yet.

Is his persistence really a sign that he's ready to drop it? Sometimes I think when Daddy's home on the weekends he thinks it's "party time!" :bluegiggle:

That's about the age Charlie started to go two naps a day. We had him on a 10 and 3 schedule and it worked like a charm. Then one day.....he decided he was too good for two naps :hehe: As long as they're getting about 15hrs total sleep (including night time) you should be fine.

Yeah, I've always had the 15 hour "rule" in the back of my mind. He usually gets 12 hours a night, so I guess he is going to be fine. Maybe I'm just being selfish and thinking I'm losing out on a nap aka "mommy's time to do homework and be online." :hehe:

Oh, I feel you. Trust me. When Charlie went to one nap a day I thought I was going to cry :hehe:

Averie is just over 6 months and she's recently had a shift in sleep patterns too. Some for the better though. She's finally started to have a more regular bedtime and goes to her crib between 10 and 10:30. She sleeps there until about 5:00 when she wakes up and comes to my bed to nurse (yes, naughty, naughty). Then she's awake for the day by 7:00. She takes a mid-morning power nap at around 10 or 11 that usually only lasts about 15 minutes to half an hour. She takes a mid-afternoon power nap that lasts less than half an hour around 3 and sometimes takes another nap in the evening but that's only occasionally.

That was the age that Eli started getting rid of his morning one too.

That's about the age Ava went to 2 naps also. She would take about an hour nap around 10 and then take a longer one around 3 or 4. She would nap anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Now I'm lucky if I get her to nap for an hour.:eyeroll:

I definitely miss the "me time" during naps.;)

Well, looks like he's definitely dropping the nap first thing in the morning! It's been like this for about 5 days now...I don't think there's any going back now, lol.

Man, sometimes I really miss the newborn stage. I should have appreciated all of the sleep a little more. The things I accomplished then.

Lol, ok, sarcasm aside... Lily does her own thing. She really does. Two naps seem to be ideal, with maybe one catnap in here or there. We do best when we go out to playgroup for the morning. Her sleep schedule is a bit more regular now (we're a little over 5 months here). She goes to bed between 8-9, when she's nice stays down until 430/5. Nurses in bed with me (I'm naughty too), and then usually goes back to bed until 8/830. This has been heaven when she does it! Now, it was going up for the day, eat, play, eat, play a little more then back down around 12 or 1. Up eat play eat play etc. until about 4, nap up until bed time. However, usually only one nap is good when we do this, maybe one 2 hour nap and a then a half hour/45 minute other nap. But, when we're out for a 1030/11 playdate and don't get back until 2 or so, she eats when we get back and then goes down for about 2 1/2- 3 hours.

Eventually, I realized that with her, my schedules meant crap and it was better to go with it :hehe:

With Tyler, however, routine was key. The kid still thrives on routine. You really have to go with their lead I think. He was a two napper right around 6 months too, and they were both good long ones!! So, I would follow his cues if he's doing well and just nudge him along if he's "forgetting" naptimes.

I remember with both boys their naps were at 10 am and then again at 3 pm. They slept for 2-3 hours. I was really spoiled.

I think it was around 6 months that Conner started his two naps a day as well. I think sometimes it would be 3 but he also didn't sleep through the night until about a year! lol
