Every since I had R, I've had extremely painful ovulation. I was hoping it would go away after pregnancy this time, but it hasn't. I'm fertile right now and I am getting ovulation pain and it's just as painful as I remember.
When I told my OB about this during pregnancy he said it probably wasn't related to ovulation. I know otherwise because I tracked my cycles while TTC and it always happened every month during ovulation.
I need help. I need this pain to stop. I can't take it every month again.
My RE looked at my ovaries while we were TTC and said they looked fine. If they're okay, why does it hurt so damn bad?!
When I was 13 I started using BC pills to help suspected endometriosis. It did help. My periods were lighter and less painful. I took BC for 3 years, stopped for 3 years and then started it again for a year, came off and haven't used BC regularly since them. Could that have anything to do with this?
I'm not on any type of hormonal BC. Any ideas or thoughts or stories to share?
I feel stupid for wanting to make an appointment about this. I feel like he'll just tell me to pop an Ibuprofen and deal with it (Ibuprofen doesn't help). I have my next pap due in April, I was going to bring it up then.

I have no idea what could cause this, but I notice painful ovulation in myself. My ovulation is more painful than my menstrual cramps, if I get cramps then at all. The last birth control I ever took was the minipill before DH got snipped, but I don't know if there's any correlation between that and the O pain. :/

Becky, my ovulation pain is also more painful than my period. I rarely ever have to take medication for pain during my period.
I have extremely painful ovulation. I have ovaries covered in cysts, though. I have crazy painful periods, too.

I have bad ov pains too, though I also had them when I was on the pill when I wasn't ov, so that's never been explained to me. I call it the invisible rhino, because it feels like one is just standing there prodding my ovary with his horn. I've had multiple u/s looking for cyts or anything else that might be causing it and 2 laproscopies for endometriosis, but nothing has ever made a difference. However, mine improved after pregnancy, now I don't get it every month.
All that to say, I feel for you and after extensive medical treatment trying to find the source of mine, no one has ever figured it out or fixed it. Not very heartening, I know, but that's what I can offer!

Lily, thank you. I'm sorry they haven't been able to help you but I am glad it improved some! It's one reason I wouldn't get my tubes tied. I was scared it would worsen it.

Yeah, that's what I was told as well, that that could cause my endo to become worse and basically cause more hormonal problems than I already have. My OB thinks everything is going to be solved by the hysterectomy, whenever I can get that done, but we'll see.

I'm the same way, I do take aleve for it though.
Some hot pads also help me, but finding the time to sit with in on me seems a little hard to find.

Here's a small update.
I was super fertile. EWCM, cervix was HSO, ovulation pain...etc. A few days later I spotted for 3 days. I thought for sure AF was coming. All of the spotting cleared up. Then, a few days later, I became fertile again! EWCM, HSO and ovulation pain. I'm still a little fertile small amounts of EWCM. What the hell is going on. I'm sure it's my body regulating, but the tenderness I could do without. Warm baths do help, but only for a short time. I'm going to see my OB/GYN in April and I will be bringing this up, if not sooner, because I can't take this! It's almost debilitating. I don't even like getting out of bed because it's so painful to walk and move around, wear jeans, bend over... etc.

My irl best friend gets this, too. She finally found a combination of a low dose birth control pill and prescription pain meds after years of being basically incapacitated by it.
I am sorry, rebekah. To me, the worst part of this is you not being taken seriously by doctors. Keep pushing, mama. You shouldn't be in excruciating pain!

I hope you can figure out something that helps. That sounds incredibly unpleasant :(
