Okay Girls, Share with us your tips on getting through your pap every year?
I can't stand to have this done. I dread the spring b/c of it! My tip on getting though it is to always wear my socks! Yes I keep them on or bring a pair with me. Then during the test I sing little songs in my head! ;)

You know, since having Charlie I have no shame  I just always laugh at the "little pressure!" comment.

Ugh I hate them to and really need to go get mine done. I don't really have any tips. I just lay there and stare at the ceiling. And pray they don't strike up a convo. :hehe:
No tips here. I hate hate hate it!!!!!!!!! I just close my eyes and try to relax as much as possible--relax by laughing with my doctor and talking--of course!

I pass out, without fail, every.single.time. I have a PAP. Funny thing, I was a trooper during child labor. Go figure. My advice is to bring juice in case you do faint! ;)

The doctor and nurse are usually harrassing each other and that usually puts me at ease. I have to have them done every 3 months right now so it is becoming old hat to me.

 Not that you have them so often, but what's the story with the dr and nurse?

They don't bother me anymore. My doctor and I usually have a conversation while she's doing it so it tends to go fairly quickly. Oh, and ditto to the socks! I always leave them on when I'm having it done. :twothumbs:

Ashley... she's his head nurse and has been with him for a long time. He likes to get her riled up and she usually comes back with some smart remarks. Poor Dr is out numbered since I will take her side.. LOL

Sam, are you okay? You said you have to get them every 3 months. It's not for anything bad is it???

I have had abnormal paps for a while. It is showing mild displasia (not sure on spelling) so he does them every 3 months to keep it monitored.
