4 month PP check? [Archive] - Mothers' Hideaway

Anyone have this done?

What do they do? My appt. is on Friday and I'm petrified. I hate internals and am scared I am getting one :hiding:

I never had a 4 month visit with any of the kids. It was always just the 6 week pp checkup. Good luck, I hope you can dodge the internal exam bullet.

Yeah, I didn't have one either. Just at 5 weeks. They did an internal then. Have you had your pap for this year yet? If so then I would say you won't have an internal. Good Luck!

No I actually haven't had my pap. I guess that's why they're making me come in.

I think they usually just check to make sure you have healed if you tore or got cut. But if you haven't had a pap in a while they will probably do one. Sorry Jo!:bluehug:

I have had so many exams lately it's crazy. They did my pap at the 6 week check...Good luck!!! It's not as bad as giving birth. Just remember that!!

Yeah, I just had my 6 week.. but it sounds like it's definitely for the pap! Take some aleve or something before you go ;)

Hey it wasn't so bad and I shot the breeze with my doc. He's really fast. I was more scared of my boobs leaking then anything else :lol:

I only lost 8lbs since last appt. UGH. So all in all I lost about (almost) 40lbs since giving birth. I gained a lot :blush:

Have I ever posted my "fatty" pictures from when I was pregnant with Ethan? I gained over 90 lbs when I was pregnant with him. Started at about 130 and was over 200lbs when he was born. It takes time but you CAN and WILL lose the weight, especially since you have much more motivation than I did back then!!

Here it is, this was me at about 190lbs!!

I had a 6 week and then they wanted to see me back at 12 weeks but I think that was because my c-section wasn't healing as fast as it should have been...I just really overdid it and popped a stitch! They didn't do an internal on me either time...not sure if they didn't do one because nothing came out that way and there was nothing to "check" or it is just not common practice? :))
