I'm sorry hon! I haven't experienced this at all, maybe you should give your dr. a call? Especially for the hives, I'm sorry you have to deal with that! :support:

Eeek. I lost hair for a VERY LONG TIME, but I eventually cut it (big mistake). I never had the hives so I would talk to your dr. Sounds like an allergy. Did you start using a new detergent (ie: Dreft) when he was born?

Thanks Ash, I've been to the dermatologist on several occasions regarding the hives! They even biopsied one of them b/c I was sooo paranoid they were bug bites! they said I probably will never know what causes them unless i wanted to go through a battery of allergy tests and I probably then still wouldn't have a definite answer! It just gets really old waking up broke out in hives! As far as the hair loss goes, I'm concearned but I'm chalking it up to pp symptoms! My sister said she did the same thing with her hair and then when she was 1 year pp it got better! Sorry to ramble on and on, it's just nice to get this off my chest! thanks for listening!

Farrah, nothing has changed and we've always used all free and clear and everything I use is hypoallergenic and dye free and scent free! I'm completely stumpped! thanks for trying to help me figure it out though!
I really have no clue. I can ask my MIL since she works at an allergist and see if she heard of pp and hives.:support:

Sorry I have no advice. I agree about talking to the doctor but it sounds like you already have that covered :support:

I lost hair for a long, long time after Ben was born. A long time... :hehe:
Hives are generally an allergic reaction, are they not? Were you getting hives before the baby was born or did they start after? It could be something that you're using for the baby that's causing them, like a cream, wipes or something along those lines.

i didn't have any problems until I was 6 weeks pp and I broke out in a horrid rash and now I break out in hives every 1-2 days :( It was getting better and now it seems they are getting worse again! I woke up this morning with a cluster of them on the small of my back! they look like bites but are welpt up somthing aweful :(
I've heard of women who had c-sections having issues being allergic to the stuff they use during surgery but I don't think I could still be having issues now! I'd read somewhere people can be allergic to carpet beetle larvae? I've been finding them in my closet (very very old house) and I guess some people can be allergic to the tiny hair like fibers on the larvae of the beetle? Just pulling at straws! I guess I'll never know, but it sure is annoying!

You poor thing! I'd totally see an allergist for the hives. God forbid it IS those carpet beetles...what if the same things happened to DS??
As far as the hair loss, I was totally convinced that I was going bald after I had Annie. I called my Uncle (former president of the Georgia Hairdresser's Association) in a panic, and he said it's completely normal given the hormonal changes in your body. There's not really much you can do for it aside from keeping your scalp in good shape. I noticed that mine got better after I stopped breast-feeding and everything went back to somewhat normal. Good luck!! :support:

I say visit the allergist. I'm sure it's something with allergies! I hate when I get hives!
