Lily is really starting to chomp and chew- and she doesn't even have any teeth yet!! What do you do to minimize the biting??
Also, does anyone know any natural remedies for a cold? I cannot ged rid of this thing, and it has me up coughing all night. Ugh.

I'm not sure what you can do about the cold although I'm pretty sure there are some meds that are safe to take. Check Kellymom. I think they've got a list there.
As for biting, most things I've read have said to take the baby off every time they bite and if they continue to bite stop the nursing session. Eventually they figure out biting means no boob and they'll stop. Usually. :hehe:

I took the boob away and put my hand over it & said NO! every time Cash chomped or bit & he figured it out real quick (and before he had any teeth to do actual damage!)
Put the juice of 2 lemons, a heaping tbsp of honey and a tsp of cayenne pepper in a mug and fill it the rest of the way with hot water. If you need more honey for taste, you can add it. It will cut the mucus, help with coughing & help clear out your sinuses.

Each time Charlie bit I would pull him off and snap "No! That hurts Mommy!" With time he figured it out. Once, when he was almost or about a year old, I accidentally tapped his mouth (it was a reflex) and yelled "Ow! No!" when he bit my boob with a mouthful of dangerous teeth. He never did it again after that :hehe:
I have heard of drinking warm apple cider vinegar :puke: My boss has done this so many times and swears by it. She also puts honey in it to sweeten it. I tried it and puked my brains out.
As for nursing...I have no idea. The ladies seem to know what they are doing. GOod luck!!:support:

I did the same thing as the other girls...when she bit me, I would take it away and say "ouch!"
I hope your cold goes away soon!:support:
Same here..I would pull away, touch his cheek and say "No biting!"

I did the same. I noticed Will did it mostly at the ends of feedings when he was done and just playing so I would watch him and once he stopped sucking I would pull him off. As for the cold you can take Tylenol or Sudafed products. I would double check with a pharmacist where ever you buy the medicine from. They will be able to tell you what's safe to take while nursing. Just make sure you drink lots of fluids because they can dry you up a little.
