I found this saying while looking for answers on how to sleep train Chandler:
"They say the short-term pain of a few tears is far outweighed by the long-term advantages: a child who goes to sleep easily and happily on his own, and parents who can count on a good night's rest"
If anyone has any advice on how to get my munchkin to sleep PLEASE share!!!

Ugh, let me know!! Lily is great at night, but forget more than 20 minutes during the day unless I have her moby'd..
Good luck! And when you find what works, please share

I will. Right now, I am trying the CIO method. I'll check on him if he doesn't calm down after a certain amount of time, but if he is just whining, then I will leave him. I am trying him out in his crib today for the 1st time. He went down good for his second nap, but only slept for 30minutes. He's still in there since he isn't crying, just making noise. I haven't decided if I am going to let him sleep in his crib tonight or in his bassinet. I am thinking his crib because then it will throw him off. We'll see what kind of night I have tonight. The only problem with having him sleep in his crib at night is that he usually falls asleep on me after he nurses since he has to sit upright for 30minutes after each feeding. Only time will tell if this will work. I am praying it will.

Rayanne, have you read "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" or "Babywise" yet? If not, I would! Those two books helped me sleep train Cohen at 9 weeks old. He's been an awesome sleeper ever since! Good luck, and let me know if you'd like any tips. xoxo

The CIO is hard, but is worth it in the end. Heather swears by the books and I thinky they're right, so I say go for that, too!!!

Well, in the first two months of his life, I did whatever I could which typically meant he slept in his swing.
Then when he turned 9 weeks old, I read Healthy Sleep Habits and discovered that you were suppose to put them down for a nap after every 1.5-2 hours of wakefulness. So, I would rock him a bit and he'd be out, and he would go to sleep that often. I couldn't believe it! I decided to let him CIO at about 3 months old ( I had tried it once before that time and just couldn't do it) when he was fighting me every time I'd try to rock him. To my surprise, he only had to CIO like 3 times. The first time it was only for maybe 15-20 minutes, and then the next two times it was only 10 minutes or so. I really recommend getting them in the crib ASAP if you haven't already. It makes things so much easier later on. For instance, I say to Cohen "Are you ready for naps?" and he walks to his bedroom door, into his room, and stands by the crib! It is freaking awesome!!

That's so cute Heather!! I am still working on his naps, he doesn't like them too much, but I know he will get there.
