I think most of you all are probably younger than me:hehe: but does anyone have any knowledge about this or know someone who went through the beginning stages, etc?

My mom doesnt remember squat so she's useless to ask(plus she had a hysterectomy before going through it).

Im pretty sure Im "there" so I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on how to survive and such.

Appreciate it.

I don't have any advice but I had to say that even though I don't know how old you are, I assume you're not *that* much older than me :) Sorry I couldn't offer anything helpful.

I'm sorry Hillarie but I haven't a clue either.

I found these things on webmd:

My mom says doesn't remember going through menopause because she was so busy with all of us. :hehe:

Ok, you're killing me. I'm going to snoop in your profile to see if it says how "old" you are. You can't be much older (if you ARE older) than me. :p

My mom had a hysterectomy around age 40 I believe by the her lateish 40's is when she went off the wall.

She never went to the doctor for anything she was feeling. She literally became a hormonal monster. It was scary and not cool.

She still gets hot flashes to this day but her moods and everything else are officially over. Now she's just nuts but that's just her personality. :hehe:

My mom went off the deep end during menopause mainly because she was in denial. She was seriously bat **** crazy and if you mentioned the word "menopause" to her she'd freak out and say "I am NOT crazy!!!!". Ummm, yeah, that reaction was really convincing :eyeroll: I think the main thing with dealing with it is to realize what's going on and don't just suffer if you don't have to. There are things you can take to help...IF that's what's going on.

Totally agree with you. My mom was in denial too. She'd sit in the room, dark as hell and just sit. Doing nothing.

Ill be 37 next week.:hehe:

My mom doesnt remember anything cuz she had the hysterectomy and then was taking hormone stuff but does remember hot flashes and hating them.

Im taking some over the counter estrogen pills to try and balance me out emotionally and it is helping. But since my mom was thrown into it all there isnt anyone I can really get first hand accts from as to the goings on and stages, etc LOL.

Ok, I'm only a few months older. I turned 37 in February. :hehe:

I'm banking on my sisters for advice seeing as my mom doesn't remember it. They're both in the midst of it now (one is 49 the other is 51) so hopefully they'll have some tips for me.
