Do you believe there is something to "Mother's Instinct"? Do you have any stories that you know or have experienced that has made you believe or not believe it? :mommybear:

Yes, for every stranger who tried to touch my kids :hehe:

I think it exists in the fierce pain, pride, love, and protection you feel for your kids.

Im a firm believer.
Its the best way I parent actually.

Not sure I can explain it but I can tell you when my kids arent feeling well even if they just woke up. I can see it in their faces, its in their "vibe". I can tell when they are lying and I can tell you why they did it.

However, Im the same with other people too. Im intuitive about people, I can tell 99% of the time, and am right, what someone is like just by looking at them or talking with them for 5 mins.

However, I feel that we all have that momma bear instinct. That need to protect our young. I believe we are born with that momma instinct inside us but sometimes its active from the get go and for others, must be activated. I think thats why some seem to have it come easily while others dont.

Yes I whole heartly believe in it.

One day I just had this feeling that Eli didn't feel so well or something just wasn't right and I call the sitter. She was shocked b/c she was getting ready to call me Eli was sick with a fever and threw up! I told her I just felt like something was wrong with him. She told me what a good Mom I was and that, that was my Mommy Instinct coming out.

:hehe:

I agree with Hillarie too. I think every mother has it. When Ben broke his foot over the summer I knew something was wrong even though we couldn't see anything. After that experience I'll go with my gut every time without question.

I couldn't agree more! I know when Matt cries out for pain and I know when it's just because he's being a PITA. Maybe that's not instinct as much as it is recognition of all the times I've heard him crying and can easily know where it's headed.

You know my mom knew(I was 12) that something was gonna go wrong when I went snow tubing with my church group for the first time.

She did nothing about her "vibe" and I busted my leg bad enough to have to have a pin put in it.

I think I learned more than she did about following my instinct during that ordeal.

I believe in it.
My mom has a strong "instinct" about a lot of things. Sometimes it can get really annoying when she calls at 2am to see if I'm ok though.:eyeroll:

But there were many times when I was a teenager that I wished I would have stayed home when she asked me to, but on the other hand there were a couple things she didn't "see" that I wished she would have.

I think we all have it, just some are more "tuned in" than others.
