Our weaning attempts have been sabotaged. :eyeroll: William has known how to sign milk for a while but he learned please too and now almost every time he sees me it's "milk please!" Little stink! :p I don't give it to him every time and after the first few days he got over asking for it every 5 min.
But I am still not pushing the weaning thing. I think we need to get through flu/cold season. But we are only nursing 4 times a day, first thing in the morning, 2 naps and before bed. He has started to go to sleep for naps on his own after nursing instead of during nursing. So that's a step in the right direction, right?! :hula:

I hate when they learn please!
I think it's a great idea to keep nursing through flu season. Can't hurt to keep him tapped up on some extra immunities and antibodies. :twothumbs:

Cut down to 4 sounds like a good step!! :hula: I'm sure you'll get there, keep us posted! (and tell us the trick! :hehe:)
I think that is awesome that you are for getting to 4 nursings a day! I can't even keep track of how many times I nurse a day.
Keep up the good work! :support::support:

I think you are doing great! I did the gradual weaning and it worked great for us!

OMGosh, I can just imagine how adorable it is when he signs "Milk please"
I think nursing a little through flu season is a great idea. I don't see any need to rush it if this is what you're comfortable with.

It really does get me every time! Especially when he really wants it he signs please on me instead of him.
We are making progress though and he is doing better with his naps and the other night he decided to go to bed without nursing or a bottle.

Cutting down is great, he'll probably slowly start to lose interest from here. Good luck! I'd planned to wean at 1 year but Cash set the pace and we ended on his 18 month birthday, however the last 2 months were literally like 10 seconds at bedtime, he'd latch on and be like "NOM NOM...wait, why am I doing this again?" and quit. It made me feel good that it wasn't traumatic for him at all even though it went on a bit longer than I'd planned.
