View Full Version : Sifting powered sugar and flour

Last year my sifter broke, that thing belonged to my mom so it was bound to go sooner than later.

I'm wondering, is there another way to sift things without me running out and buying a new one right now?

Do you have a mesh strainer? I use that all the time!

I have a wire mesh strainer that I use (I've never used a sifter). I put the flour/sugar/cocoa whatever into the that and push it through with a spoon.

I have no idea how much a sifter is but you can get wire strainers for a couple of bucks or possibly less at the dollar store.

Sounds like the mesh strainer would work just fine! (And thanks for the Kitchen Tip for Tuesday :hehe:)
