View Full Version : How do you make your Turkey?
So what do you do with your Turkey? Any tried and true ideas out there??
And no, buying from the local market does not count ;)

I got nothing :hehe: I don't eat Turkey, so dh and Tyler usually have some turkey rollups or this year, cornish hens, and then we also have ham.

I haven't cooked many turkeys, but the ones I have, I just cleaned, stuffed (YUM!) and basted until they were done! I think I also put something on the skin... like butter or something? Sorry... I'm not much help!

I've got nothing... Either my mom or my brother cooks it depending on where we're having dinner. Our house is too small to hold our family. :hehe:

I brine it, then I roast it only on a bed of celery. I read a loooooonnnnnnnggggg time ago if you roast your turkey on a bed of celery it ALWAYS turns out moist and yummy.... nine years later and it hasn't failed me yet.
Brining is a water/salt soak to infuse the raw meat with moisture prior to roasting. I also added chicken stock and a mix of seasonings.
That's my tried and true secret. BTW - our turkey was super moist, super delish and the meat fell off the bone.
