How many naps does your LO take?

How did you know when they were supposed to stop napping 2x??

DH thinks Matt only needs 1 nap but he is a total monster. He won't sleep and not because he isn't tired but because he's miserable and can't. So please tell my DH that he needs more than 1 nap! Okay, thanks :hehe:

WELL this is a sore subject in this house right now. :hehe: For the longest time Conner took 2, 2 hour naps a day. One in the morning around 10 and one in the afternoon around 2. Well nowadays he just thinks he can do whatever. I could do one nap and be fine but when he barely naps he sleeps like CRAP at night. He physically NEEDS 2 naps a day. Today he took 1, one hour nap so we'll see how tonight goes.

Mine take one.

Mine all switched to one nap a day at about a year of age. It used to be 2 naps, one in the am and one in the early pm and they'd sleep for around 2 hrs.

Then at about a year I shifted them to a nap right around lunchtime and they would sleep for 3 hrs.

Never had issues with the shifting it just seemed to be natural to do so.

William takes two naps a day. The first is usually 3 hrs after waking for the day and the next is 3 hrs after waking from his nap. He starts feeling tired around 2-2 1/2 hrs but if I keep him up until 3 he goes down really easily.

Tyler took 2 naps until I think a year and half..maybe even two. The kid loves his sleep. He still typically takes one nap and he's 4. Lily.. well. Lily does what she wants. It was on a good schedule, where she'd take a nap for about an hour and a half in the morning while Tyler was at preschool (and I tried to maintain this on the days he wasn't) and then an afternoon 2, 2 1/2 hour nap. However, there are times, especially on the weekend, she takes one power nap, 3-4 hours. It sounds good in theory, but then she's miserable by bedtime. Vicious circle. I think she needs 2 naps ideally.

Duncan took 2 naps until he was probably like 14 or 15m old. And he just transitioned himself when he was ready. I would say at less than one that more than likely could use 2 naps... so there, Jo's DH! :hehe:

Eli took 2 naps till he was about 10months old. Then he started just taking a 2hour one in the afternoon after lunch.

I think Ben was about 18 months when he stopped taking 2 naps. Then they were usually 2-2.5 hours each. Now he takes one nap in the afternoon and he'll sleep 3-4 hours. He still sleeps 11-12 hours a night and has for ages. The kid loves his sleep!

Ashley, you're freaking me out. Ben is a sleeper, just like Tyler, so I'm terrified that the new baby is going to be just like Lily and be the total opposite to Ben.

Cash took 2 until he was around 12 months. His second nap got earlier and earlier while his first got shorter and shorter until it was just pointless to have 2. It was a few weeks of rough transition with him being more tired, but it was obvious he was moving away from the 2 nap thing so we just kept the new schedule until he got used to it.

As of September, he takes no naps :( But he sleeps better and longer at night & goes to sleep way faster, so it's a fair trade. His whole life he has been really good about letting me know when it's time for a change in schedule & really adamant about doing it, I can't fight him when he makes up his mind.

Jo, if I remember correctly, we were just starting to transition from 3 naps a day to 2 naps a day at about that age.

(((HUGS))) I feel you on teeth. Poor Matthew!
