Averie is running a fever for the past couple days. Tylenol seems to be controlling it but about an hour before she can have her next dose her fever creeps back up to about 102.5* F. I don't have a single clue what's going on! She has absolutely NO symptoms other than the fever; no runny nose, no pulling on her ears, no icky poopy diapers, no vomitting/spitting up (more than usual anyway), no signs of teething, no signs of a cold, no signs of an ear infection (although that is still what I suspect)...Nothing!!
So, with everything else going on that's another reason I am a bit quiet lately. I hope to be back in the swing of things after the new year. I have been poppin to read whenever I get a chance but with a sick baby in my arms it's very difficult to reply to any posts.

This is exactly what happened to Conner! We kept switching back and forth between tylenol and motrin and it would keep the fever down until right before he was due again and it would be 102. He had that fever for 5-6 days and that's when we thought he was teething. And then he woke up with a raspy cough, had it for two days and we just put his humidifier in his room and bam now he is getting better. It was really weird!
I hope she feels better soon! :support:

Thanks girls!!
Cindy, I hope Conner is back to 100% very soon! :support: Gosh, a fever like this for 5 or 6 days would be really tough! You can see it in Averie's eyes that she's not feeling well:

Aww that's how Conner's eyes looked to. :( Maybe she'll get a cough in a few days and be like Conner and get over it quick. I really hope so! Poor baby girl.

we had this happen not to long ago too , we actually rushed him to the hospital once, because his temp got up to 103.6 i was terrified, but when we got him to the hospital it had already dropped, thank god. but they told us to rotate and also put the humidifier in his room and it was like 2 days later he was regular old jayden again :) so try that , hopefully she will get better soon though, i know its hard when there sick. :support:

Thanks so much everyone!

I am waiting for the pediatrician to get in so I can get her seen today. She was up from 1 am until 4 am with a 103 temp and that was with Tylenon AND Motrin :( I am completely stumped and think this is either an icky virus or her first ear infection. I hate to take her out in the cold with a fever like this but I think the doctor needs to take a look and listen to her just in case.

Aw, I'm sorry girl! Cohen has had this 3 seperate times. No symptoms except a fever that lasted 3-4 days. We did the alternating b/w Tylenol and Motrin thing too. I hope she feels better soon, poor baby!

So, she's still running a fever but apparently her little "episode" of the 103 fever overnight was the fever "breaking" because today unmedicated (this afternoon anyway) her fever is under 101 and at that point I will not medicate. She did puke all over her tray at dinner instead of eating anything but seems to feel better now that she got that out (gross, I know). So, doctor thinks it's just a nasty virus and we have to wait it out. I was actually kinda surprised it wasn't an ear infection and the doctor actually was too. If the fever isn't completely gone by Monday then we go back for possibly xrays just to make sure she's not brewing up some pneumonia. Thanks for all the well wishes, I think they may be working already!! :grouphug:
