Well, after my post (http://www.mothershideaway.com/forums1/showthread.php?p=45442#post45442) on Saturday night Charlie woke up at 2am calling for us. We thought he was being a turd and took our time getting to him. DH went in and there was puke everywhere. :( Charlie seemed very scared. DH cleaned him up handed him to me in our bed and then washed Charlie's sheets.

We all get back to sleep in our bed. Then at 5:15am I am sound asleep and Charlie is snuggled up next to me and I hear him choking. I open my eyes, he's on his back choking on some more throw up. I freak out and push him to sit up and try to get myself to sit up as fast as I could. I can't sit up fast because of the buddha belly and at this point DH is up and helping me telling me not to panic. Charlie had thrown up all over our bed and himself. I caught more throw up in the towel and he started crying. I go clean him and I up and go to cuddle on the couch while DH does yet another load of puked on laundry.

DH goes back to sleep while Charlie and I watch cartoons. He's super tired and keeps trying to fall asleep, but he doesn't feel well. He asks me to take him to his big boy bed and we lay there for 20 minutes. I can hear his tummy gurgling. Finally we end up back on the couch to cuddle and at 7:30 he gets up to play with this new Jingle Bells Santa I bought him. Then he bends over and whimpers. I ask him if he was pooping he said "No" (my child is a compulsive liar about pooping) and the stench hits me. I walk over to pick him up and diarrhea oozes through his pj's all over me. We rush back to his bedroom and I start stripping him down. There was diarrhea from his armpits to knees. The stench was awful and I started dry heaving. DH wakes up and starts to take over. I turn on the bathtub (while dry heaving over the toilet) and we give him a Code Red: Emergency Bath!

After that debacle, we clean and cuddle him and then he falls asleep at 10:30. The IL's come at 12pm and Charlie continues to sleep until 2pm. He acted totally normal the rest of the day and was a bit more fussy about eating (understandably). I put him back on his BRAT (Well, BAT in this house since he won't eat Rice) diet and extra Pedialyte. All along he's had NO fever except for Sunday A WEEK ago.

I'm starting to think it's food allergies and am currently waiting (it's been 3 hours) for the dr to call me back about it. I don't see how a stomach bug would continue for 9 days without a fever and stop and start the entire time. I have no flippin' clue what he could be allergic to seeing as he's not eaten anything new, but we'll have to see.

*sigh* My poor baby.

Wow. I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. I am a very allergic person (and have been since I was a baby) It may not be that he is eating anything new. Allergies can develop. For example - I ate peanut butter all the time as a child. Then, one day, when I was 9 years old, I ate it....and then promptly starting swelling up and couldn't breathe. Hmmm. Not a good example and I'm not trying to scare you. My point is that allergies can develop. I would try to convince your pediatrician to at least do basic bloodwork (easier said than done on a toddler) to check for the most common allergens. Has he lost any weight lately? Does he have any other signs of allergies - rashes, itchy eyes, congestion?

Weight, not sure. He's a thick kid so he always feels heavy to me :hehe:

He has eczema and that's been acting up for forever. Some days are worse than others. I actually took him in to the doctor in October about it because he was starting to get new patches. He's had a runny nose lately, but we've all had a cold.

My doctor finally called back. She thinks it started as a bug and then that may have set off his allergies. She wants us to do dairy free or gluten free (already almost 100% dairy free) and see how that goes. If it comes back to call and have him checked out for a physical exam and a blood draw. So, I guess it's a week more of waiting to see.

Oh goodness. That's awful, Farah. I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine. When I'm pregnant, I can't handle the smell of vomit at all. (hugs) I hope he's feeling better and that the doctor can really figure out what's going on!
