When someone asks how old their children are they say Oh he's 32 months!

Seriously? Your child is not 32 months...He's 3 or almost 3.

I do it up until about 18 months then I stop. After that it's too hard to figure out the months and how close they are to whatever age they're getting to. I can't even remember how many months Ben is right now. I just say he's 2 1/2.

I was saying that until about this last month or so. Now he is closer to 2, so I say that. When I told a few people he is 20 months, or 21 months, they started looking at me funny and then saying..oh, so he's almost 2? :hehe:

I really can't ever imagine saying the months beyond 2 years old..that is just weird! They probably say that because they are sad their baby is growing older and don't want them any closer to the next age.;)

I did it til they were 18mths or so, just found it easier then saying ohhh they are a year a half or they are nearly two.

Once they hit two though I stopped. I have no idea why some use months forever and a day...maybe its a comfort thing for them or they feel it keeps the child from growing up so fast.

This has always irked Kirk. Now that we have Addie, we are guilty of doing it but will stop at 18 months. That's the way sizing is too if you notice.

I say Conner is 19 months. I always wondered when people stopped but I plan on stopping the whole month thing at 2. I don't like saying 1 1/2 it sounds to old. :hehe:

I think we did this through about 18m too... but how the heck to you even remember after that! I think when the kid can tell you how old they are, its really time to drop the months thing.

Well going by that I'll have to tell people Cash is 32 months :)

But yeah, I stopped around 20 months and went to "almost 2"

well I didn't start this to make people angry :)

I just saw it on another forum where someone said their child was 38 months and was wondering why not just say 3? ;)

:hehe: Me too I guess! Duncan can talk pretty well, but I'm sure he has no idea the answer to the question "how old are you?" I'll have to practice that one!

I wouldn't do it either? I think at about 21 months I started saying "Almost 2".

It takes me awhile to figure out the math when people say the age in months.:hehe:...especially before I had Ava.

I think somewhere after 18 months...if someone asked Ava's age I just said she will be 2 in January.:))
