So Aiden's birthday party is this Saturday, and I'm scrambling through cookbooks to find party food ideas.

I have a couple things on my list already that are mainly there for sheer convenience...chicken nugget tray from Chic Fil A (the only protein my son will eat :eyeroll:) and my MIL is getting a 6 foot sub from Subway. Classy, eh?

The party is from 2-5, so it's not really during a designated meal time. I'm thinking a veggie platter, chips & dips, and I want a couple other sides.

What do you ladies suggest? Do you have any yummy finger foods?

As far as kid-friendly goes, it's only going to be Aiden and one other toddler at the party. I'm not really worried about kids for these recipes. :hehe:

I always did sandwiches(like subs)cuz then everyone could make it to their own delights and tastes.

I like cheese and meat trays too(with crackers)then everyone can make their own little snacks and have fun dressing up the cracker however they prefer.

You could do a couple of simple salads like a macaroni, potato, and a dessert type(I always do my purple salad cuz its always a hit).

I think the things you have mentioned are a good idea. I wouldn't really get too much since it's a between meal time.

Pigs in a blanket
PBJ triangles
mini omlets (I make them in cupcake tins)
cheese and crackers
Orzo salad (super easy and yummy!)
roasted veggies (super easy too!)

I make these things called "firecrackers" - roast beef with cream cheese spread on it and then wrapped around a green onion. My family always has deviled eggs for any occasion for some reason :eyeroll: We usually also have a meat and cheese tray and a veggie tray too.

We do sweet and sour meatballs in the crockpot a lot for events like this-- soo super easy. You could do a spinach or artichoke dip,and use pita bread to dress it up a little. You could do some gourmet nachos, maybe a simple bruschetta. I'm just thinking of things we've had at our last few things, lol!!
