Naming your kids

How did you come up with a name(s)?

I used a name book my Mom sent me. Boy's names were really hard for us to decide and then it was between Conner & Logan. So we drew from a hat. :lol: We both chose Conner which is what I wanted anyway.

As for his middle name, it's my Dad's middle name.

I had a crush on a guy when I was in high school named Ben and I've always loved the name. The day I mentioned the name to my DH he said that was the one and we used my father's name as Ben's middle name.

If Ben had been a girl we would have been screwed. We never did pick out a girl's name. I guess deep down I knew I was carrying a boy. :twothumbs:

Ummmm, in the delivery room. I was in labor and it was 3 in the morning. I told DH to go to sleep that it'd be a long time and he said "Don't you think we should figure out some names???" Well, we wrote down 5 boy names and 5 girl names on the white board. I said "When we see the baby we'll figure it out." When Charlie was born I knew I wanted him to be "Charles Joseph" and said as much to DH. He makes fun of me to this day about how I said it :love: Oh and Joseph was DH's grandpa's middle name.

Well my Hubby's name is Bronson and we wanted something along the lines of that so we picked Bryson. Wade is both of there middle names.

Also we want to all have the same initials. If we have another boy it would be another BWW name.

If its a girl it would be an AIW name for Ashley Irene.

Kinda corny but oh well! :blush:

I don't think it's corny! Well, that's probably because after reading your post I realized that one of the reasons my DH wanted Benjamin as a name was so that baby's initials would match his (we'd already decided on John as the middle name for a boy). If Ben had been a girl DH wanted her initials to be the same as mine.

Well DH decided on Eli's and that was that. I had NO say in it! I did NOT like Eli I wanted to name him Cody... Oh well his name does fit him. Eli is after Dh's Great Grandfather and Don is after DH & His Dad.
Now the next one he knows it is my turn!! And Eli's WHOLE name is after his family! So the next will be Bradyn Robert. Bradyn is after my grandfather who passed away when I was pg for Eli. And Robert is after my Dad.
If it is a girl it will be Ella b/c I want a E name to go with Eli! LOL and Love will be her middle name b/c that is my middle name.

Ashley, how is Eli's name pronounced? Does it sound like Ell-ee or like Ee-lie? I know people who pronounce it both ways and I've always wondered but keep forgetting to ask you... :blush: :P

I LOOOOVE the name Braydon! If we have another boy his name is going to be Brayden William.

If it's a girl Abigail Irene. Irene is my middle name.

Ash~ You need to talk DH into trying in July so we can be preggers at the same time and both have Braydens!!!! OH WAIT!!!! Bronson wants a girl....ooops! O~well!

We stole the name Cohen from an old college friend of mine who named her son Cowen. Dh loved the name and wouldn't shut up about it. I wanted to name him Pittman after Dh's mother's maiden name, and the next boy I wanted to name Hendrix after my mother's maiden name. But Dh finally won out, and Cohen it was.

My son's name is Shane David. DH had a brother named Shane that passed away 17 years ago at age 17. I actually found out I was pregnant on the anniversary date of when he died. His middle name is my brothers name. If we have another child the names are Julia Chase or Kason Chase and Chase is Dh's other brothers name. The first names are just names we like.

I really didn't pick Sara's name even though I wasn't that against it, I really wanted Maya though. DH and I wanted a biblical international name which is a bit tricky. He said all along that our first child would be a girl and that her name would be Sara so he would. I did chose her middle name though which is Lynn, so that her name could sound like mine when said in spanish Marilyn - Sara Lynn. I already told him that if I get pg with a boy, his name will be Daniel, I don't know why I love that name but I could see calling my son Daniel. :love:
