Well Thursday morning we left for the hospital at 5:00am and they started my induction around 8am,I was 3cm and 80% the Dr. came in at 8:30am and broke my water. I had MAJOR back labor it was AWFUL!! I got my Epi at 7cm and things were going great then!! LOL I slept through the biggest part of my labor. Then around 3:00pm I was sitten up and playing cards with my MIL and I looked at her real funny and said something isn't right and she was like what do you mean, I said I feel I need to push!! And just then the nurse came in to put some meds in my IV to make my contractions more reg. and I told I felt I need to push and she said OOOh don't let me check you and she said OMG you are 9 1/2 do not push well we don't need this meds. So the started getting everthing ready and at 3:15 they let me push and I could feel everything my EPI was GONE!! The nurse couldn't believe how good I was pushing! Then things got interesting when the Dr. came in.. Poor little Eli head was stuck!! YES Stuck!! And my Dr. was getting concerned and he said Ashley give me 3 good pushes well I pushed so hard on the 3rd one that he came flying out of there!! Dh thought the Dr. was going drop him! LOL They had to cut me all way hole to hole if you know what I mean. I had to have ALOT of stiches. But he is soo worth all of it! He came out all pretty and everything is good with him. He was born at 3:42PM at 7lbs 6oz and 21inches.

On Friday the 23rd I was in for a NST to see if they would admit me and start my induction. The previous week they told me I had preeclampsia and my blood pressure had slowly gotten worse through out my entire pregnancy.
So I go in and they decided to go ahead and admit me and start my induction. As soon as they got me hooked up my blood pressure shot up to 200/108. It was crazy. They started with the pill (I don't know the name) and it wasn't doing much so they started pitocin. They started all of this Friday afternoon, around 1 and I didn't get into active labor until around 8 pm. I got my epi before I felt any pain so that was NICE! lol I was also put on magnesium for my blood pressure so that wasn't fun. I had to get a catheter which HURT LIKE A MOTHER!
I started pushing at 7 am. I pushed for an hour and it wasn't to bad. Conner came out at 8:10 am and wasn't able to be put on me because he didn't cry right away :( They took him over to the table and cleaned him up and he cried and then shortly after they said they had to take him to the nursery. I got to see him for the first time a couple hours later when they wheeled me in there. That night they took Conner to the Spanish NICU that was 45 minutes away and I was stuck in the hospital until Monday. It sucked so bad and I pray my next one gets to stay with me!

I love reading these...
I'll apologize now. Mine is long. I've copied it from another site I posted it on not long after Ben was born. It's a good thing too because there are all sorts of things that I don't remember! I'm so glad I've got this. I'm going to print it out and put it into a scrapbook. :twothumbs:
I should add that my EDD was June 29th and that was the day Ben was born.
I'd been having the typical BH contractions for a few weeks and they started coming closer and stronger about the beginning of last week. Out of the blue they all but stopped. The only time I'd get them was when I'd get up to move around (which was getting hard seeing as I was the size of a barn...).
Skip ahead a few days. My sister's ex-husband and his little family were here for my nephew's graduation. For some ridiculous reason they wanted to get DH and I something for the baby (long story short, Dan (the ex) and I have always hated each other so this was the most ironic thing I'd ever heard...) and wanted to bring it over on Friday the 29th. I had asked DH if he'd be able to work from home that day so I wouldn't have to deal with the ex and his bonehead wife on my own. Good thing I did!
On Friday, I woke up with some serious contractions (not odd as I was moving around and that's when I usually got the BH). Noticed they were coming fairly close together and they were starting to hurt like hell. Then I had the joy of a slight bloody show (I'd lost my plug the weekend before) so I told DH we had to head to the hospital. We left the house at 8:30 am, got there at around 9 am, checked in and by that time there was no doubt I was in labour. The nurse checked and I was about 3 cm dilated. My doctor showed up at around 10:00 am (she was in downtown Ottawa for something) and I was fully into that whole darn labour thing. She checked and I was about 7 cm dilated by then (I'd gone from 3 cm to 7 cm in less than an hour).
When we first arrived at the hospital, I'd told them I wanted an epidural but they start you off with fentinol (sp?) which does diddly-squat to cut the pain and will then move to the epidural. You can get a shot of the fentinol into the IV drip every 5-10 minutes and it will take the edge off the contractions. Well, it took the edge off the NEXT contraction and then I had to wait through another, oh, 5 or 6 contractions before I could get another does (I asked for a constant drip but they wouldn't do it ). Apparently I was progressing through labour too fast and they couldn't give me an epidural, so I had to go through it all with only that pathetic "edge remover" for relief.
I was on my side for most of the labour and they had me roll on to my back to push him out, but after about half an hour of no progress, they had me go back on to my side again. Once there, he was out in about 3 good pushes. I had to stop at one point (which is soooo not an easy thing to do once the little gaffer decides it's coming out!) because the cord was around his neck. Turns out the cord was wrapped around his neck and around his shoulders too, which is why I was having such a hard time pushing him out. DH didn't get to cut the cord because the doctor had to cut it in two places just to get him out.
Anyway, after some serious bouts of "just take the damn thing out of me" and some good old yelling, Ben was finally born at just after noon. I really, really hope there was no one else in labour in the hospital when I was going through it because they would have passed out from fear (I woke one girl up with my yelling... ). It hurt like hell and I was letting everyone know it (apparently I yelled at my doctor a few times... oops!). At one point I finally had to let go of DH's hand because I was afraid I was going to break it. A week later and I still have the bruises on my hands from where I gripped the handles on the bed (those handles are great for leverage when you're pushing!).
Sorry for the novel... LOL The short version is I was in labour for about 4 1/2 hours with about an hour of that in actual delivery. No real drugs (the pathetic excuse of a pain killer they gave just doesn't count in my eyes!) so I went through it almost naturally. Despite the fact that the little bugger had a head the size of a basketball (35 cm, I think) and was 8 lbs 7.2 oz, I managed only minor lacerations which meant no stitches (YAY!!!). Oh ya, and this whole natural birth thing is so not my cup of tea! That's twice that I've had to do it now and I don't want to do it again. I'm all for the drugs but apparently my body doesn't agree with me.

I've got to hunt mine down, but I'll come back to this!!
I was induced a week after my due date with cervidil and pitocin. I was also given ambien which is a dream!!!! I was admitted to the hospital around 7:15 pm and gave birth the following night at 10:17 pm.
At 2 cm dilated I was asking for the epi. It was wonderful. Getting it wasn't so wonderful but the after effects were awesome! :hula: I don't remember much because of the ambien. I was knocked out and slept most of the day. I also puked almost every hour. They broke my water and found merconium in it. I was progressing smoothly and didn't feel a thing which was great. At around 7 pm (24 hours later) they told me I was ready to go. (at 6-6:30 pm they made me try some practice pushes and let Matthew work his way down.)
So I began pushing. And pushing. And pushing. I was making very slow progress. His head would pop out and then pop back in. At 9:45 the doc told me that if he wasn't out in 30 min they would take me up for a c-section. I started crying. I was laboring for awhile and didn't want that now. So we decided on a vacuum and episiotomy. 1 big push after and he popped out.
They put him on my chest and whisked him away really fast because he had swallowed the merconium. It was all so surreal. I couldn't believe what my body had just done. It was amazing. I got to hold him right after they cleaned him and got him all fixed.
DH, my mil, mom and sister were in the room. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
