So I have figured out the trick to get my child to sleep for more than 45minutes. I must sit with him as he falls asleep on the couch. Then let him sleep on the couch and sit with him. I haven't stepped away from him because I've been too hesitant, but I'm sure he'd sleep the same if I wasn't here.

So....what is the trick to get your kid to nap?

I say, "It's time for a nap." and he walks to his bedroom door with his two fingers in his mouth and waits for me to come put him in his crib. :P2

 Sorry, but you know it's the truth. And for some odd reason, he's taken two naps a day the past two days, with both naps being over an hour and a half. Growth spurt maybe? :idontknow:

I pretty much do the same thing with Bryson. I say are you ready for a nap buddy and he just goes. He loves his crib though.

I would try to step away though and see how he does. You need that mommy time!

Its a bit tricky with Sara because she is always at the restaurant with me, which in those cases she takes a nap in her stroller and either my MIL or I push or rock her to sleep. When I'm home though I tell her its nap time, take her to her crib, give her a blankie, and walk out. She might fuss a bit but she settles herself down quickly and easily goes down for a good 2 to 3 hours.

Conner has been taking two naps a day for a while. He was always a napper. He fights it for a whole 3 minutes and cries and then goes to sleep.

With Eli I am lucky to get his lunch over before he passes out in this chair! So I just scoop him up before he is all the way passed out clean him up and lay him in his crib. He will sleep for 2-3hours. He goes to bed at 8am and is up 6:30-7, so he is ready for a nap by 10:30-11.

Farah have you tried covering the windows in his room and making them dark? I can get Eli to sleep a little bit longer on the weekends if I do this. For some reason he thinks if it is daylight it is time to get up even at 5:30am!!
