Alice was a snorty breather as a newborn, but Brendon isn't. He like... seems to have trouble taking in breaths sometimes though. It didn't start until he was two weeks old. He'll get "excited" over something and like... honk? I'm having issues describing it. But he gets chest retractions or whatever they are called when it happens. He doesn't cough and he's not congested. Maybe I can manage a short video clip of it sometime.
Anyway, does it sound familiar to anyone? I do plan to ask his doctor btw.

William had something similar too. It would freak me out.

Oh i once babysat a little girl that had this but ALL the time!!! It was crazy honking and it turned out there was something a bit big in her throat...the docs wanted surgery but the mommy stuck it out and she outgrew it. Sorry I don't know more info then that on it but just wanted to let you know it all worked out. If you are still concerned and want to know exactly what this little one had I will talk to her and find out just let me know :)

Yeah, from what I can remember Cohen did this too, but just while he was asleep. I remember thinking that there had to be something wrong.
If it really concerns you I would have the pedi check him out just to be sure.

My friend's baby did that and the doctors made her worry about it and had a name for it, but I don't remember what it was. When she met Addie and she did it she kind of freaked out and I mentioned it to her doctor and she said it was normal. I dunno...

Aidan breathed funky for a few months. Like, she'd forget to take a breath and then GASSSSSP!! It freaked me out. She's okay now though...

It sounds like it is normal from reading everyone's responce, but yeah, just talk it over with your ped. It would freak me out too though.
Matt does this in his sleep or when he's super tired. It's like a hard breath they take in or like a honky sigh.
I think he's perfectly fine.

I would get a clip to show your dr, but it sounds like it's nothing to worry about. I would be a little freaked out too, but I think it sounds good that there's no congestion or anything with it. Keep us posted! :support:
