Anyone have a LO with a milk allergy? I am starting to think Melanie has one, although very mild. For a few months now she has had a rash under her lip. No matter how much eczema cream I put on it, it never goes away. The pedi tries to tell me it is because of drooling, but I dealt with that when she was little little and this is totally different.
Should I put her on soy milk for a little while and see if the rash goes away?

Do her cheeks get red? If it's milk she'd probably have runny stinky poops too, and maybe a rashy bum. I had a milk allergy, and 2 my friend's sons do as well, those are the most common symptoms. If the rash on her chin is her only symptom, it could be the plastic in her bottles?

William gets the rash all the time too. I have no idea what it's from! He's on goat's milk though. When he was having issues with milk he was extremely constipated and would vomit within 30 min of eating yogurt or drinking milk and would continue to throw up. Maybe keep a food/symptom journal for a week or so and see if it always happens after milk or yogurt.

Addie gets it too, but I haven't been able to figure out why. Well, her's is more like a little patch of dry skin that will be gone the next day. I'm assuming eczema? She's got a small patch on one of her legs that comes and goes but mostly sticks around.
Here's a pic of what's on her leg:

(I left it huge so you can see it.) You can't tell how dry looking it is since she's in water, but it's the same thing that shows up on her chin/face.
ETA: Not trying to steal the thread, just posted to see if maybe this is what you're talking about?

:( The eczema is painful. I had it as a teenager and I had to get special cream...it was awful and just got worse before it got better. I hope it's not that.
Can they not test the skin flakes? That's how they knew for sure I had eczema. I suggest keeping it out of water and moisterized. Maybe some Neosporin?
If it's only on her chin then I would probably think it's not the milk, but if you really think it is it wouldn't hurt to give up milk for a few days and see what happens.
Talon is allergic to dairy, even though allergy tests say he's not. He is on goat's milk since he did not tolerate Soy when he was a baby and we're still not sure about soy. When he has dairy, depending on what and how much he gets bad eczema rashy spots all over his legs and butt that almost are like sores. He will also get diarrea if he has something heavy in dairy.
Try putting Aquaphor on the rash..that usally helps us.

Charlie has an intolerance to milk and he usually spits up/throws up if he has a dairy overdose. His eczema gets bad, but it's not isolated to one area it's usually on his chest or legs. He gets it pretty badly on his cheek. It may not hurt to cut it out for a while and see if it improves, but I'm thinking it's something else. :support:

It could be impetigo, a bacterial infection, try some antibiotic ointment and see if that help.
