Matthew had his 1 month check up today!
He gained 36 oz in 28 days :look: What a chubster. The pedi said we shouldn't always feed him when he cries...sure buddy...I'll deprive my child of food because you said so.
He is now 23 inches long, 10lbs 9 oz and his head is 15". No suprise his head is huge considering his father has a huge head. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. No idea what any of that means (feel free to explain it to me :P )
And he got his 2nd Hep B shot. He turned beat red and then screamed and then mommy cried :blush: He quickly recovered and fell fast asleep.
I am not looking forward to his 2 month check up where he gets a crap load of new shots :cry2:
Well overall everything went great!

Aww, I hate the shots!! I'm glad he's doing so well though. I'm surprised the ped would say not to feed :confused:
He likes to eat. I can't help it. He grazes a lot. I think they want to see 1 oz weight gain for every day no? It was only 8 oz over--big whoopity doo!
I personally think he's too small to deprive him. I just nod and say yes. Just like I did when he asked me if he takes his Vit D every day. :blush:

Well overall everything went great!
The percentile stuff means that of babies his age he is right at average for weight 50% and a big above the average for height. Really the only thing that matters for babies (I think) is that they continue to grow at a steady pace.
He sounds very healthy to me!!!

Sounds like he's doing well. Just follow your instincts with the feeding him, you're the mama..you know what's best! :twothumbs:

He seems like he is average for height/weight or a bit taller for height so i don't see what the huge concern is. As for as my pedi was concerned, as long as Sara was proportional, it didn't matter how I feed her. Eventually he will be able to tell you when he truly is hungry and when he is not, he will just simply refuse the bottle. Shots suck but they get passed it easily with a little tlc from mama, keep up the good work!

I hated the shots too. They're harder on us than they are on our kids...

With the eating thing from your DR. our told me that too. And pretty much told him to go jump in a lake! LOL He said I just THINK he is hungry! :rolleyes: Mommy's know what cry is for what! Just do what you feel is right!
