DH brought this up to my attention the other night and I thought it was such a powerful message. Just wondering what are some of your thoughts on it. Apparently this commercial was launched just a few short months ago and was rejected by some news outlets.

You know. I saw this post this morning and had to take some time to think about it. I am amazed that the Catholic church is coming on so strong and posting this advertisement, but at the same time, what a perfect opportunity to show that sure....life may suck at the moment, but you can get through this and you may make a huge impact in this world!
What I think is interesting is that two major networks rejected it because it was so blatantly Pro-Life. I wonder if they would do the same had it been Pro-Choice? Does it matter if they're willing to pay the money? I wonder if they also selectively choose which campaign ads to run during Campaign Season. Hmmmm

I thought it was great. A very powerful statement. Shows that just because hardship is part of an equation it doesn't mean it's going to equal failure.

See, I just have an issue with a religion being so loud about it. I understand being that way with your congregation or members, but to create a commercial and buy ad time seems to be such a step in the wrong direction. That being said, their message of no matter what the hardships it doesn't always mean it's going to be a bad result is a good one. I just wish they didn't have to turn it into such a controversial thing.

I get what you're saying. It's kind of like Al Gore and the environment for me.

Exactly!!! I think Al created the environment to be such this "PANIC WE'RE ALL GOING TO OVERHEAT AND DIE" thing and that annoys me as well. Yes, we should take care of our Earth and the animals and creatures within, but isn't there a less in your face way to tell me about it?
