So Aiden's had a fever for going on 6 days now. It always goes right back up to 102 when the Motrin/Tylenol wears off. Besides that, he hasn't really had any other symptoms.
We took him Tuesday night to get him looked at. The nurse practitioner said it was just a virus and to watch the fever. Fast forward to today and he was much worse and really lethargic. He slept from 7:45AM-12 on the couch with me...that never happens! I also noticed he hadn't been peeing much even though he'd been drinking a TON of fluids.
So I took Aiden into his regular doctor today (who came in just to see Aiden on his day off--he's awesome!!). The doctor looked Aiden over and gave me a bag to try and catch some pee in. I got maybe a teaspoon of pee and it was super cloudy and dark. The doctor couldn't diagnose an infection on his office's machine, so he sent it out to be cultured. We'll know more tomorrow about an infection or not. He also mentioned something about reflux in the bladder and possibly having to do a catheter test if there is significant growth on the culture? I've never heard of that, but it definitely didn't ease my mind.
Sorry that was so long! I haven't been able to talk to DH about it, so I was just spilling all of the uncessary details to all of you lovely ladies! :D :hehe:
