You mean he wets the bed? That's a common problem. I know I wet the bed until I was about 7 or 8. My mom took me to the dr., and they told her that it has to do with kids having bigger bladders than their premature muscles are able to hold in, so they pee at night. I'm not sure if there is much you can do besides support him. I know it was super embarrassing to me as a kid.

Have you tried cutting him off from drinking, say around 7?
My friends Daughter wore pull ups at night until she was 8 because she just wouldn't wake up to go. When she started cutting her drinking off around 7 she stopped having so many accidents and eventually just stopped going at night. In the beginning she would also wake her up when she got up early for work and make her go potty.
That's gotta be frustrating! I hope you can find a solution soon! :support:

I have taken him to the doctor they put him on meds. It helped out a little bit. he was on it for almost 4 months. but then he got the H1N1 and we had to stop giving it to him. Because one thing it did was make him over heat. So he had a fever over 103 and we stopped the meds. We never gave it to him again. I just feel so lost at what to do.
 I'm sorry I know it must be so frustrating when you are dealing with that everyday. Why do you think he is having the accidents? I'm just thinking if maybe if you know why, it will help you to "fix" the behavior.
5 is still pretty young; I'm sure you are almost out of this phase. :support:

Is it only at night or during the day as well?

What meds did they have him on. My pediatrician gave us two options when we were having issues with one of the kids. One medication they took at night and helped them "retain" the fluids so they wouldn't have to urinate during the overnight hours. The problem with this medication was the horrific side effects and the fact that the child had to undergo major testing on their liver, kidneys and heart in order to even be approved to take it...SCARY!!! The other was a medication that helped with sleep issues. The problem we were having was a sleep issue that involved sleeping so soundly that the body's cues to wake up because of a full bladder weren't being aknowledged. We opted out of that also because of potential side effects. We chose the "wait it out" method and honestly it took YEARS and YEARS and much frustration. As for issues during the day at that age, are there any other issues? We were acutally seeing a counselor because of ADHD issues and though we didn't have daytime problems it was asked about often because apparently that's pretty common. Also, aside from WHAT medications he is/was on, what was the diagnosis for the medications? Do they think he just has an immature bladder? Is this something that maybe should be looked into more thoroughly now?
Gosh, I wish I had more advice, that's gotta be so frustrating! Good luck!

Holly, I think I was like 5 before I fully potty trained. LoL. My mom has told me time and time again I didn't care, if I was doing something I would NOT stop to go pee.
Is he anything like I was and Dylan is? LoL, Dylan will NOT stop playing the Wii, playing at Monkey Joes, and such to pee. He just don't care and will wet himself though he is potty trained. I've become familiar with his "tinkle dance" though and try to get him to go to the potty when I see him doing it...Otherwise, if he doesn't stop playing the game to go pee, the game goes bye bye, and so on....
I have no advice just hugs :bluehug:

One of my nephews was a potty training disaster and while I'm not sure what the whole story is I do know that my by brother wakes him up about 2 hours after he goes to bed so he can use the bathroom. I have no idea how long he's been doing it (my nephew just turned 12) or how long they'll have to keep doing it but it stopped him from wetting the bed at night. Maybe that would help your little guy(?).
I'm pretty sure they went through hell trying to day train him but I don't know the details. Sorry!
